2015 jetta tdi airbag light

Hello. I just bought a rebuilt 2015 jetta tdi with only 29k miles! Unfortunately, the airbag light was a disclosed issue. The seller had installed a new airbag module with the same part number as the original, replaced the two front airbags, and the seatbelts. I have evidence of the module and airbag replacement, but no written proof of the seatbelt replacement. He claimed that he did not have access to a ross-tech cable for coding, which was the reason why the light is still on.

I have a friend with an original cable, yet we have been unable to code the new module. We receive "coding rejected... error 22: conditions not correct or request sequence error"

I really need more help figuring this out... Other than the airbag light, the car seems to be operating perfectly.

This is not something that can be fixed with VCDS. It means that the airbag module has not been properly parameterized.

Thanks for the reply.

It turn out to be a faulty main airbag module. Now that it is replaced, almost all of the faults have cleared.

Unfortunately, I still have 1 fault.

9437713 - igniter for passenger airbag
B1002 11 [137] - short to ground

If I can fix this last problem, it will be a major victory with no other faults!

My "short to ground" was caused by faulty connectors at the passenger airbag. I opened a connector and is appears to be a fusible link, so my assumption is that the connector is designed to fail after airbag deployment. Prehaps as a safety against amateur airbag installation? Just speculating.

Hey im having the same issue short to ground on passenger air bag. There are two plugs on the passenger airbag one closer to door and one closer to dash. Which one was casuing your issue? Also I'm assuming you just replaced the plug to fix the issue?
