A 12 hour parasitic draw test was at .05 amps.
50 mA strikes me as still a bit on the high side. That's 1.2 amp-hours per day. Not horrible, but would still be a dead battery after ~2 months.

Seems the battery wasn't the issue after all. After much testing and learning about my car it has been isolated to the access/start module on the steering column. There is a steering column lock actuator fault N360 that was popping up every time it didn't start.
It is a common issue with the 2005-2011 A6 and Q7. Audi wants to change the complete steering column but there is a place who will refurbish the module at a much better price.

Also, just for our information, would you post your battery history data please?

VCDS Main Screen > Applications > History Data > 61 Radio Button > Start

This will produce text as output that is posted just like an Auto-Scan

Because not everyone will want to DIY this repair? :thanks:

Exactly why most delete the lock pin and worm gear + have relays wired to the switch conditions to identify the desired position of the switch for the kessy.

A6 Access Start module repair update

Please tell us about this place.

Sorry for the late reply.

I have included the link in this thread.
They will refurbish the old module if you send it to them. This is what I did.
They will also sell you a new one.
You can also send the whole steering column and they will change out the module.
They need one of the keys to code the new/repaired module.

I have had the car a few weeks now and it works perfectly.

No need to carry the laptop and Ross tech interface every time I drive the car :)

Liking my car again!

Kevin
