Happy Days

I ordered a new module from an Audi dealer in Atlanta - cheapest I could find new and I ordered it Friday and it is in the car now and everything works though still need to code the keys.

I'll be sealing that PITA into a plastic bag to keep moisture away best as possible (the actual one it came shipped in matter of fact)

Do I need to do anything VAGCOM or just the key coding multi-step thing?

Jack - thanks a ton!

Uwe and other folks - also thanks!

I am now a near expert at getting that d*man part in/out - I describe it like putting your head into a toilet then putting both arms in after. What was Audi thinking!

:)

Do you have any old scans from this car, from when the old module was still working?

Unfortunately no...

I have to get the 2nd key (it's not with me right now) then I can try the coding stuff... since it's a new module, no clearing should be needed right?

I would guess that no clearing is ever really needed on these modules since you're specifying a memory position rather than a count of remotes you want to match. I think this also means you can do them one at a time rather than having to do them all at the same time.

Well I have something to share with collective ..............

It is my belief that the Audi All road CCM controller is the same board and processor so far after observation.

A couple things to swap but doable............

Related? Dry today - tried top but no joy

I know the switch is knackered, it is jammed into always closed position but when I click the up/down button the light on the dash goes on. Switch was knackered prior to the module death..

Everything else good, got 1 key coded (only one I have here at the moment)

Thoughts? Thanks

Change the switch..........

Is this car supposed to eat me alive? It triggers the light on the dash so I think the switch must be alive and though it means nada, the switch was fine before the great module replacement saga..

Can always verify the switch conditions with VCDS or meter and load light.

Verify all the top wires for ability to carry current...........

I'm pretty sure it's the switch in the upper windshield area, it was problematic before (thought top was open when not) .. so when that arrives, more surgery fun
