hi guys,

I am going crazy here, got this car and checked everything as it throws the system too rich fault

* found cat converter completely obstructed, removed it (it is now catless, that is not an issue in our country as it was cheaper than buying a new cat)
* had a P2237, so changed primary 02 sensor to latest part number
* checked PCV, perfect condition
* checked timing everything is good
* checked for leaks on boost side, pressure tested everything all good
* removed and checked HPFP for any symptom
* changed injectors as it was having misfires while idle
* compression test on all 4 cylinders all show 145 psi
* leak down test 98% hold
* spark plugs porcelain white and external part dark black

so right now it continues to throw the P0172 when you are driving for a long period and lift gas pedal on a downhill, 1 big explosion comes out of the exhaust.

block 032 I have seen idle channel start at 0% and raise up to -24% at some ocasions.

Sama13, cat was smoke so an ongoing issue, Is this car chipped????

Also what his the condition of the oil.????

Back fire?. Not sure intake or exhaust. Back fire normally timing or lean burn, take a pick.

Also what is the condition of intake, filter, (intake runners if applicable). Noted lambda going from almost 10% lean and rich, right on the edge of out of bounds both ways.

You stated new injectors, are any of them posting inordinate times compared to each other?

You stated PCV is good, not sure what that means, your call.

hi Larry,

I answer on order:

1. Yes ongoing issue, this car was bought second hand by the guy I am working with trying to solve the issue, but it seems previous guy had removed stock downpipe and let it get wet with rain so it messed up.
2. Car is reflashed, eys.
3. New oil Motul 8100 X-Clean, it consumed 2 liters in around 5,000 kms
4. Backfire from the exhaust when going downhill without fuel pedal pressed.
5. Stock intake, new air filter, cleaned runners 4,000 kms ago. removed tube from intercooler to throttle to check and all is good (known to have an issue)
6. haven't checked injector times as I don't know how can you explain so I can check it, bought latest version.
7. blocked pcv to check if it made any difference and it didn't, checked with the normal way that we learned a while ago of checking idle when warm engine, if there is another way please explain.

Sir Jack, you got me off guard, what do you mean with Legacy scan?

VCDS auto-scans when you first started and all the original fault codes or was it only this one fault code?

Is car modified for programming?

What specific part number for the forward OXS was installed, because didn't this require a firmware revision to be used & also I dont see an SVM code for that ECU you have?

And after clearing faults, it hadn't let me do the readiness, but after resetting all adaptations it let me and I assume it's the catalyst issue that prevents me on going thru with it.

I am really clueless here, the exact faults appeared again, O2 sensor heater, misfire 1 and 4, of course the rich fault. We had done so much trying to find the issues that narrowing it down and thinking as it leads to a misfire on 1 and 4, could it be cracked exhaust manifold on those 2 cylinder runners?

Can we have a full autoscan of the car as it's now back to standard software.
Can you test the temperature sensor as sometimes these go funny after ECU flashing. Jack would term it as FOD!

Yes. It also wouldn't hurt to check the fuel temp sensor also. IAT should normally produce a MIL but I've seen on modded ECUs that things don't seem to work as they should.

Could you please provide channel for fuel temp sensor i have never checked that one
