When no RTFB available...........
Put trans in reverse and set shift lever in reverse too and lock down the linkage for basic setting and then work from there for fine adjust.
Some transmissions have a pin set in trans shift tower and should be ref in the RTFB to correlate linkage.

On Mk4 through Mk6, the shifter neutral position is for shifter realignment. On what model(s) is this procedure done in reverse gear?
