Does VCDS have the ability to operate/test the flaps on a 2006 VW Beetle without actually operating the top?

The question would be better phrased: Does the roof module have a provision in it for that to be done using a scan-tool?

Can you post a scan from this car you can post so we can see what module it has and what we know about it?

Attached is the output from when I first scanned the car.

Doesn't look promising. I see nothing that indicates this module supports Selective Output Tests, which would be the most probable way.

But some of the folks know these roof systems better than I do....

I'm not aware of any output test support for this Roof Electronics.

Just what issue are you having with the top other than some voltage issue. Does the Comfort Control Module, address 46, communicate? It isn't there in the Auto-Scan and it needs to talk for the top to operate.

I thought that might be the case with the roof electronics.

The battery is shot and needs to be replaced so I'm pretty sure that's what's causing the low voltage. I was asking about the roof since it wont operate and was seeing if there was a way to test. I'm going to see if I can locate a diagram that shows the location of the fuse for the roof electronics. Unfortunately fuse location card is no longer with the car.
