    DSG faults worldwide

I thought I'd ask, how is your DSG holding up?
Locally we have some problems with DSG gearboxes and the users with faulty gearboxes seem to coming up.

    Example:
My friend has a Passat b6 with 3.2L FSI (2007) and DSG. He had a fault, that gearbox doesn't want to stay in gear when releasing brake. When think it as a manual it felt like someone is releasing clutch, pressing it and then releasing it again. It stopped when decent speed was gained. Also uncomfortable gear change for automatic. I don't know the word describing it, but feels like when releasing clutch too quickly.
Local dealer told that mechatronic needs replacing what got replaced, but that didn't cure it cause after some driving, symptoms came back.

Currently don't know the exact situation of car, but when i talked to friend, who is a truck driver in Europe, he told he talked to many VR6 and DSG owners.
They all claim to have problems with their DSG, usually mechatronic change.
A man who had owned his MKV R32 from new said his car mechatronic is changed at 53k km and 117k km, clutches at 117k km, than gearbox broke 155k km and at the same time DMF got replaced. On the second gearbox the mechtronic got swapped at 240k km and probably will get changed again. Current milage is 350k km.

How is the situation on others?

Although i wanna get a newer car sometime and also automatic(too lazy as i am), i don't want to have expensive bills on gearbox repair. Oil change is understandable, but not expensive repair cost. Makes me wanna change to Audi, that some engines have option of tiptronic or BMW that seems to hold up, at least on gearbox side.

DSG = Double shitty gearbox........... in comparison to early auto gearboxes fails at double frequency of 01M and

I say double........... because double the cost..........

Hello , i want to ask about measure block 15 in my dsg 6 gearbox

i do not have errors and the gearbox Works perfect!!!!

I have reflash the dsg ecu with stage 2 unitronic program to have quick gear changes and more Protection for the gearbox since 8000 klm .

    in vag com

    the Measured value block 15:

    1. Travel measurement gear actuator 1-3 (0... 1023)
    2. Travel measurement gear actuator 2-4 (0... 1023)
    3. Travel measurement gear actuator 5-N (0... 1023)
    4. Travel measurement gear actuator 6-R (0... 1023)

in my gearbox the Measured value block 15:

    1. Travel measurement gear actuator 1-3 is 2063
    2. Travel measurement gear actuator 2-4 is 1082
    3. Travel measurement gear actuator 5-N is 2072
    4. Travel measurement gear actuator 6-R is 1224

the values are above limit because of the dsg ecu reflash??

Yes, when you remap the dsg box it adjusts the travel paths for the gears. I actually like dsg's but sadly the mechatronics unit is prone to failure. Although saying that the newer versions don't seem to give as much trouble!

Nobody can predict the future, but most of the issues I have found with dsg boxes have been from 06-09, I've only ever replaced 1 7 speed mechatronics unit which had an internal short.

It's hard to tell from the various "advice" out there on the Internet, but I'd be willing to bet that many of the DSG problems experienced ae overfill/underfills. It's tough to nail the fill volume just right unless you understand what you're doing (I messed it up the first time and overfilled), but VCDS definitely helped me do it right the second time.
