Hello
i recently bought vcds and when i perform a tba on my 97 polo AFH is doesnt say ADP RUN or ADAP OK but ,i can hear the tbi moving and making noises is it like this on this model car , it doesnt display a message? (and has no fault codes, scanned)
The car has high idle missfires a splutters on acceleration, it has a new VDO tbi cant find any vacum leaks either...
After reseting the ecu and tried tba with vcds the car now even on cold start starts with very high idle...

Any thoughts folks?

Cheers

Hi B600power,
How did you check for a vacuum leak? What do the fuel trims and O2 sensor read?
Regards HMC

Hello sorry ive been busy didnt check the thread...
I sprayed water to look for vacum leaks, but changed a few hoses just to be sure.
With a multimeter i can see the lambda fluctuating.
Is possible to read fuel trims on this car?
What block and zone can i found it and what would be a good Reading? Vcds doesnt actually tells me what im Reading

Cheers

Please post an Auto-Scan so people can see exactly what control modules this car has.

Hi
This is my Chassis:WVWZZZ6NZVY143524 and ECU: 030 906 030D
As soon as i can i will try to post na auto scan!..
I dont have much info on thisbut seems like VW replaced this ecu for 030 906 030E since it caused high idle...
Anyone have more info on this and what where the symptoms?

Thanks

I think this is normal on those old Marelli ECUs.

After reseting the ecu and tried tba with vcds the car now even on cold start starts with very high idle...
How high?

Above 2000 rpm

if unplug the batery and leave it for a day and the scan the car it wount say TBA not performed, shouldnt it say that when scanned?
Think ive seen people posting scans of this ecu where it would state tba not performed?
If i unplug the TBI it will show a fault when scanned...

Hello
Map and lambda if unplugged makes no difrence to the cars behaviour...
No restriction in fuel delivery or pressure! (injectors not tested but the resistance at the injectors pins are in spec)
The timing belt was in due so got a timing kit and changed it/ the crank belt pulley stays a thooth behind with the cams aligned is this a big issue? is possible to get them perfect? (Mind you the car had the symptoms before the belt change)

Cheers

Maybe the old belt moved and was wrong too, but sure a timing belt being retarded or distributor set wrong or a contaminated cap and rotor. indeed would cause such issues.

As far as high idle could be false air, improperly set TV cable etc verify and crimp hose air ports to isolate........

Hey
Today i dialed the T.gun to 6 degrees and leaved the big hole mark at the crank in the middle of the box inspection window... before i start the basic settings the car had this codes:

Endereço 01: Motor Etiquetas: Nenhum/a
N° de Peça: 030 906 030 D
Componente: MARELLI 1AV 2151

17978 - Unidade de comando do motor bloqueada
P1570 - 35-10 - - Esporádico/a/s
Never had it before...

I erased it and then perform the adjustment.
The car now idles at 900rpm, but the rpms still fluctuates from now and the and when coming to a stop it cuts sometimes (not sure the cut out is related to the IMMO faut codes?)
I has a intermitente cough or miss at 1200 t0 2000rpm but the car feels under powered takes more throttle to the revs to climb and does it slowly
But it drives much better and the high idle on star up the came after the ecu reset via VCDS is now gone!...

Any thoughts? Cheers

Performed a TBA bin bits all at 0 (cleaned TBI /Slacken the cable) but still the same:
idles at 900rpm, but the rpms still fluctuates from now and the and when coming to a stop it cuts sometimes
It has a intermitent cough or miss at 1200 t0 2000rpm but the car feels under powered takes more throttle to the revs to climb and does it slowly.

Looking online for info found a page that says: ‒ Observe -8 digit number block- in display zone 4 :
(The right-hand 4 digits are of no consequence)
•4th position from left with closed throttle valve must display 0
Display: 00000000

•‒ Slowly open throttle valve. After free travel, a stop is reached when opening throttle valve further the 4th position from left must jump to 1
Display: 00010000

When i depress the throttle just a bit (Engine Off) i get this Display: 00010000 if i depress it just by 1mm more i get 00010100 and stays like all the way to full throttle...
is this 00010100 a fault? Or since they say (The right-hand 4 digits are of no consequence) is not a fault?

Hi folks
i havent been on top of this because i had a gearbox failure im now using a 97 1.0 gearbox also sounds like its not gonna last long...

Anyway, i used a multimiter to check the voltage at the Map Sensor plug , pin:1 shows hearth, (and 1.5 ohms, with ignition off) pin2: has 5v, 3:has 5v but pin4 shows 01v ,isnt pin 4 the signal for the map and should be showing 4.5v or 5v..?

Thanks
