Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) service mode - 2017 Skoda Superb 3

Hello.

I just bought my ross tech cable to perform my own brake pad and rotor change on my 2017 Skoda Superb.

This is the first car from Skoda that is using the electronic parking brake, and because it was only first available in 2015 there is not that many good guides for that specific car out there.

I tried to use the general guide here, but module 53 is not installed in the Skoda Superb, and I just get the error "Can't connect to module" if I try to open it anyway (it is not listed under Installed modules, only under Chassis). After looking through all the available options in the different modules I found out that 03 ABS Brakes has the option to test the electronic parking brake, and I can get all the necessary information about the parking brake from that module (if the motors are active or not, and if the light is on etc)

After checking some more on the internet I found this guide for the Golf VII, and I found the same options under 03 ABS Brakes (Start/End lining change mode).

What I want to ask is if it is the lining change mode I'm supposed to be using on the Skoda, as I really don't know what is meant by "lining change mode". If I can I would like to avoid the need of a tow truck just because I tested something in VCDS.

If anyone else has done this on the Skoda Superb 3, please let me know if I'm on the right track or not.

I'm reasonably confident that Start and End Change Lining Mode in the ABS are what you want, but please post an Auto-Scan so we can see exactly what control modules your car has.

Remember, the rear caliper pistons are pushed in AFTER you get the EPB mechanism opened up. I just use a screw driver or small pry bar to get the pistons pushed back in, then remove the caliper. Once you get the brakes back together, be sure to pump up the brake pedal prior to doing the closing procedure.

Hello all!

I just got helped by this thread to fix my own 2016 Skoda Superb (III).

I would like to add some details that could be helpful for others:
* The rear brake-system seem to be equal to that of a Golf VII. It is easy to find instructions for this on YouTube and elsewere
* The pistions do not need to be rotated as they are pushed in. Just pushing is ok
* It is possible to loosen the caliper carrier when using a "normal" jack and a ratchet with a joint, but it will require significant arm strength

A detail worth noting is that my vehicle is a 4x4 and with adjustable suspension. It might look/be different with other options.
