Is it possible to use full functionally on VCDS mobile without internet?

Regarding the HEX-NET on VCDS mobile is it possible to access "Coding", "Adaptation"... without internet?

My guess - consider the install size of the PC install of VCDS and read that across to how much storage would be needed in the HEX-NET to have full functionality without "contacting base"?

It just wasn't designed to do that.

I'm not sure why it should be necessary either. The functionality available stand-alone is sufficient to do trouble-shooting in the on the road, where you might not have internet access, but even then, there are not many locations left where one cannot get internet access via a phone's hotspot.

People would like to do coding on the go without using a laptop. Something OBD11 does for example...

But the use-case remains, if you add „in rural areas without proper data connection“.

The main reason of my question is because my current Android phone (Nougat 7.0) has a major bug regarding the hotspot.

To get the hotspot to work, first the Android phone needs to connect to an Wireless network with internet access.

Only after that, I can switch the phone to hotspot mode and it will connect fine to the HEX-NET.

The problem is that not always I have access to a Wireless network with internet access.

Scratching head. My phone is also on Android 7.0 and has no such bug. If this bug is peculiar to your particular phone, well...

No idea... I also tried a custom ROM (7.1.2) but it also has the same issue.

also awesome when you cant make a wifi hotspot on a iphone when without mobile reception too..
