VW Jetta 2009 2.5l
Car is stock, except for this module, which was recently replaced.
Car was recently in an accident and the ABS controller was replaced by the autobody during repair. They turned it over to the customer because they couldn't recode it and now they are refusing to have it done and the insurance company told the customer they shouldn't have taken the car with the light on.... Meanwhile they just dropped the car off at thier home in the driveway. Insurance companies suck! I chased out every wire to module and checked all connections to be sure there was no broken, frayed, or corrupt connectors and wires.
It looks like the unit is an oem that was purchased from an auto recycler.
ABS coding chimes as long as the key is on. All fuses checked, all wires to the module checked. I can connect and stay connected to the module with no drops at all, so it looks like the intermittent connection above is a coding issue.
Any help with this coding would be awesome, Im also curious how the coding is calculated, I'd love to write an app to actually help address these problems in the future for others.
