Audi A3 8P1 Cruise Control Retrofit Problems

I can't see any previous relating post and I'm not able to post in the retrofit section and so will have to post here...

I have retrofitted my 2003 Audi A3 8P1 with cruise control, when coming to activate it I am bumping into a problem... I am unable to activate it in the engine control module as I don't know the access key... I’ve tried putting the codes 11463 and 12233 in the “Security Access -16” section as per guidance I have found on this topic but keep getting error messages, see photos of errors and VCDS scans here: https://1drv.ms/f/s!AnHbbepIQF2ZgRi2hHP1caol0_oZ

Any ideas of a code that would work or do I need a new steering wheel module?

ECU data is conspicuously absent from the above post.

Please don't use the PRINT function in VCDS to post data here. Just copy & paste the plain text, either by using the COPY button in VCDS itself, or by opening the .txt files that VCDS saves in your Logs or Scans sub-folder with Notepad and copying the contents.

Right, third time's the charm...

I notice that address 16 for the steering wheel details that the control module is incorrectly coded :confused:

All references to the aux heater have been knocking around for a while, I tried to fix it but failed and it's not really an essential so I'm not too fussed with that.

I also have a problem with the sound emitter in the instrument cluster for the indicator and warning beeps as it works as and when it feels like it, possibly a loose connection or dry solder joint somewhere, but that's not high priority either.

Was control wire already in place(pin5 of swcm)?
ECU is not Security Access, but Coding2(Login: 11463)
SWCM coding should be:0011142

No I had to install the wire myself, but I installed it into pin 13 of the steering wheel control module side and then pin 4 of the blue connector at the bulkhead as per the guidance I had found on videos and forums.

I can code the SWCM easy enough, I’ve just tried again with the ECU Coding II and used the login 11463 which it didn’t accept.

This is as far as I had gotten before

After reading/searching on some foreign forums, seems like some ECU-s carry a bug where Login codes are not accepted(Both cruise related and even 12233 for adaption).

There is a newer SW available for this ECU, that fixes unrelated faults( like cold start issues) and is loaded with OE tool (SVM: 8P01A030). It's unknown if this fixes the login problem.
Version would become 9885.

But hey, You could always try disconnecting the battery

Unless/until you Get Verified, moving it to Retrofits would lock you out of your own thread, so that's probably a bad idea.

But Dave is right, it doesn't belong in the Bar either. IMO, proper place is the New User forum. Moving...

Ah, that's a bit annoying. So potentially it's just a software issue? So you can't load software with a VCDS cable you need a separate tool?
