any idea what might be happening?

I can't run the IM readiness script because of this

2011 jetta 5 cylinder

The interface works nicely with my other passats B5, older jetta etc

Thanks

The screen-shots don't make it obvious to me what is going on. Can you describe in words please?

If I had to guess, the Basic Setting in Group 044 is ECU telling you it's not happy about something and suggesting you shut the engine down and restart it. I don't think this is a problem with VCDS.

you were right about that, I did not know the ECU would send a message like that

However, past that problem, I can now see that the basic settings does not contain label for such items as Secondary AIR, EVAP flow, EVAP leakdown

Is this something I could add manually?

I got these 2 screens when going through the readiness. Apparently the file is opening some channels that are unavailable in the ECU for Sec Air and EVAP

I wonder if this ECU uses the newer, one-group method?

What happens if you just run Basic Settings in Group 200? Engine running, start the Basic setting, hold brake pedal, and push accelerator pedal to the floor?

i was with foot on brake and accelerator. as you see, the rpm did not go up at all

I see 2 problems here:

- SAI and EVAP groups are not properly labeled in the drop down box

- certain items could be mislabeled such as those that refer to groups 223 and 224

Interesting that it didn't raise the RPM at all, since the ECU does seem to know about Group 200; we can see this based on the counter and the instructions it's giving you, i.e. "Brakes" + Full Throt" + "Hold".

Please post up a complete Auto-Scan from this car.
