My 2012 Audi A6 3.0T has been giving me this issue for the last month and I finally got the codes pulled and cannot find any info on the P1703 code, which is in the Auto Trans section and says Limp Mode due to Control Module Reset. There is also a code P0562 System Voltage Too Low. The car randomly decided to shut off one day as I was pulling out of a driveway. Lost all power, everything dead, couldn't even lock the doors. Then after sitting for about 15 min it started right back up and drove home just fine. Since then it has intermittently done this with varying messages on the dash, sometimes its a message to keep engine speed under 1500, sometimes it says keep engine speed under 4000, today it said check TPMS system, sometimes only the EPC light comes on. Sometimes it shuts off while I'm cruising down the street. The car can sit for a few days and will start right up every time, but when I back out of the driveway and start moving forward it will cut off and then I have to restart. Sometimes there is no issue. It doesn't seem to matter if the car is cold or warm. Temps here are warm/hot this time of year.
A few other things which may or may not help are that I have cleared the DTC's a few times and the Trans code P1703 is the one that keeps coming up and is the only consistent code.
