Hi,

Not sure if it's my car, a setting or something else, so I'm posting this here. I've got a 2004 VW TDI New Beetle. What I had hoped to do was to disable the daytime running lights, as I keep having to replace the headlight bulbs. However, when I try to access the Cent. Electric module (09 I believe), I get a No Response from Module message.

Is that module not available to access for my year/make, is there a setting I need to change in the software?

I did an Auto-Scan, which does not show that module as scanned:

I can do that. Wasn't sure if you needed everything. Should have searched better before I posted.

This does not appear to be a proper autoscan. What cable are you using? In my signature is a link on how to perform a full autoscan.

There are many missing modules in that scan log, so you have the ignition turned on when doing the auto-scan?

I THINK (not 100% certain) that your car doesn't have an 09 as the functions are done by the 46. So you need to look at the 46 (Central Convenience) module, why is that saying incorrectly coded?

I did look there, but didn't see anything about the daytime running lights . . . Not sure why it is saying incorrectly coded.

The incorrect coding was kinda going to be my next question. I have no idea what that means, but it doesn't seem like a good thing. :-)

I really appreciate your responses. Thank you!

Hopefully someone with access to tools that can provide coding suggestions from the VIN will come along soon...

Electrically, that generation New Beetle is essentially an Mk.4 Golf/Jetta. It does not have an 09 module, and the lights are not computer controlled. If you wish to disable DRLs, you will have to dig into the wiring diagrams and disable them the old fashioned way.

That's what I've been suspecting, but it's good to have confirmation. Thank you so much!
