First off I am very new to VW. I bought a used Passat and shortly after the engine light came on. I bought vcds and started tinkering. In doing so I have replaced the n80, gas cap, charcoal canister, and LDP. Cleared the codes and boom light comes back on after driving and sitting at idle. I am humbly asking for assistance to someone that is very new and not so smart about all this. I understand how it works and the layout of the actual system I am just completely unsure what to do next with the p0441 flow issue. Thank you so much I’m advance.

Could you perhaps show an autoscan (see below) so we can see what the car is made of?

I am certain the part numbers are accurate for the replaced parts. The LDP is attached to the canister so I am also certain I connected the lines back properly there really is no way to cross them. I will trace the lines to be certain. I am not sure how to run the vacuum tests. As I have stated I am relatively new to this. I am a software engineer so I am rather technical but this is very foreign to me. I appreciate the help and would love further explanation if possible. Thank you

Check routing of the EVAP lines, proper part number parts are installed and work you have performed to not be reversed and isolate tests with crimp & vacuum gauge to authenticate mechanical function or seal of EVAP and LDP system!

Are you saying it could be a leak issue not a blockage? I was under the assumption that p0441 is a flow issue. As in not a clear path.

Indeed a leak or FOD blockage could be a flow issue, so can incorrect routing or a valve not closing or opening when supposed to........& why I say to authenticate a valves function or seal using a mityvac tester or vacuum gauge.

Mechanicals man........ test the mechanicals...........

Thank you. I just left down on business but will be back at it on Thursday. I will trace the lines and test the n80 and Evap canister and LDP. I will post what I find here.

So I took at look at the lines and they seem to be in good condition. The line coming from the LDP is connected to the purge valve. The LDP is attached to the canister. From the LDP there is a line that goes to the N80 purge valve. And a line connected to the canister. On the canister there is one small quick connect line and one large quick connect line. I am unsure where those go to. I have watched many videos of how the evap woks and see that vacuum is applied to the LDP which energizes the pump and then pushes air to pressurize the system. So can I get some guidance on to actually what I need to check now that I have a bit more understanding?

Also I do not see anywhere that lines could be crossed. I can’t seem to trace the lines off the canister to the engine compartment. Any basic advice would be great. Should I run a 070 and 071 to see if electronically things are working?

More information. When I run the 070 it says evap not ok. However when I run readiness it shows evap emissions passed. It sounds like the purge valve is operating every 30 seconds or so. I am so thoroughly confused. Can anyone please help?

This has been resolved when I found the lines to be crossed at the separation point in the engine compartment.

Where did you find this?

Th RTFB for routing of lines would be a great start now wouldn't it, still seeking magic answers versus an RTFB query?

Why are you willing to spend money on possible parts you don't need, but ignore getting access to the information you absolutely need? :banghead:

Not magic just free. If I see someone on here who has encountered a similar issue I would just give them the answer instead of just shouting to RTFB. Some of us are busy and don't have all kinds of money to buy every manual and repair device available. Yea yea yea save your snarky remarks.

Somethings I indeed know the answers and refrain from stating, especially when it is clear that the person needs to do tests or be familiar with circuits/fuel systems safely & that can only be answered by having the RTFB to conduct repairs & again safely!
I indeed told you were to get your answer to verify it and the test materials.

The VCDS forum is not a substitute for the RTFB.

VCDS is to be used in conjunction with RTFB & to perform repairs or ask questions about VCDS blocks or functions & based on specification data in VCDS captions when available or the RTFB & that you might not understand in it, not getting you some free quick answer to circumvent buying or obtaining the RTFB!

Being argumentative and dismissive to someone who is actually trying to help you help yourself isn't wise!

Did you know that RT offers paid for tech support too, but I digress?
