Intermitanta/c RCV operation c dtc code 00898 on auto scan some times , last eve went to HVAC control MVB 13 field 1 gave 8 in field 1 which indicates compressor off;outside temp too low which sensor is this or is it a coding problem? 4 zone climate in71 degree shop which registered on front dash screen, A/C has a number of temp sensors, which one is problematic for #8 outside temp?? thanks

Fault is shown in this scan.

This:
Code:
00898 - Control Circuit A/C compressor
009 - Open or Short to Ground - Intermittent
... doesn't strike me as a temperature sensor problem.

No, you cannot eliminate the HVAC module (J301) as a potential cause of the problem strictly with VCDS, i.e. without doing electrical testing, or swapping it out for another module.
