    I followed all the prequesisites;

    Ignition ON
    Engine ON (Idle)
    Oil Temperature above 70 C (see MVB 007.2)
    Particle Filter Load below 68g (see MVB 104.3)
    If the Particle Filter Load is above 68g the Particle Filter needs to be replaced since the car may burn down when regenerating.
    Engine Hood CLOSED
    Parking Brake ENGAGED
    Transmission in (P)ARK
    Temperatures at the Exhaust System may rise up to 300 C!!!
    No Fault Codes Stored
    Power Consumers ON (Light, Seat Heating, Front/Rear Window Heater, Climate Con
    trol)

    Selected 01 (Engine)
    Login 11 then entered the code 10016
    A pop-up appeared saying code accepted by controller.
    The engine revs didn't increase and nothing seemed to happen.
    I opened Measuring Blocks and entered;
    100 (Go!)
    101 (Go!)
    102 (Go!)

    Readings were as follows;

    100
    1. 756 /min
    2. 135.7*C
    3. 0.0
    4. 1 (1 = Abort recognised)

    101
    1. 11111111
    2. 11110111
    3. 00000000
    4. 000

    102.
    1. 145.0*C
    2. 135.7*C
    3. 7.8 mbar
    4. 7.8 mbar

    I switched off the ignition, closed VCDS-Lite an started the process again....

    This time after following all the precursors and entering the code 10016 in Login 11 the engine revs immediately increased to approx 1,500 rpm.

    I opened Measuring Blocks.

    100
    1. 1512 /min
    2. 578.2*C
    3. 112
    4. 0

    101
    1. 11111111
    2. 11111111
    3. 00000000
    4. 010 (Regeneration)

    102.
    1. 626.4*C
    2. 578.2*C
    3. 27.4 mbar
    4. 7.8 mbar

    After about 20 mins Measuring Blocks showed the following;

    100
    1. 1533 /min
    2. 566.4*C
    3. 204.0
    4. 0

    101
    1. 11111111
    2. 11110111
    3. 00000000
    4. 000

    102.
    1. 620.6*C
    2. 572.3*C
    3. 23.5 mbar
    4. 7.8 mbar

    Regeneration took about 25 minutes then the engine revs dropped. Measuring Block readings then showed the following;

    100
    1. 1092 /min
    2. 354.0*C
    3. 0.0
    4. 0

    101
    1. 11111111
    2. 11110111
    3. 00000000
    4. 100

    102.
    1. 295.8*C
    2. 354.0*C
    3. 15.7 mbar
    4. 7.8 mbar

    After approx 5 mins the revs dropped to idle, the Measuring Blocks then showed the following;

    100
    1. 735 /min
    2. 300.9*C
    3. 0.0
    4. 0

    101
    1. 11111111
    2. 11111111
    3. 00000000
    4. 000

    102.
    1. 255.2*C
    2. 300.9*C
    3. 7.8 mbar
    4. 7.8 mbar

    I left the engine running for while, switched off the lights, heated seats, demister and window heater then cleared the Engine fault codes.

    I took the car for a test drive and so far so good. I'll update if there are any changes.

    A huge thanks to Uwe and Andy at Ross-Tech for your help and your patience.
