Hi,

I can see from various posts etc that the 2005 T5 transporter (55 plate) is supported, however before purchase I wanted to confirm that its possible to disable the brake wear warning light on this model.

Any guidance appreciated.

Thanks
Mart

It's probably a coding change in the instrument cluster.

Probably.

But why not just bridge the circuit?

Have tried that. In fact the previous owner had already done that but his fix is no longer working. Have tried shortening the wires where accessible at the wheel to remake that fix to no available. Local garage wants approx £200 to install fix loom and depth sensing pads. I figured spending approximately the same on a VCDS to switch off the warning was a better investment.

I try to trace the wire into the engine bay but got lost in the mass of wiring.

Have a look at the wiring diagrams. It should go into the instrument cluster, and you should be able to bridge it at the back of the cluster.

PS: But you should buy VCDS anyway, just to have it. I can't imagine owning a VW-Audi product without having it, which is why it came into existence 18 years ago. :D
