wildstar: my hypothesis about the illusive
Lighting Configuration channel is a complete guess based purely on observation and a glass of single-malt by my side as I write this.
In older BCMs, there are an equal number of Lighting Configuration channels and Leuchte channels - so, 35 x config-sets (like Leuchte-sets), each with 19 x adaptation channels = 665 x lighting configuration channels in total. The structure of each config-set appears to be exactly the same as a Leuchte-set.
And each of these lighting configuration channels also appears to have a direct link to a twin leuchte channel by virtue of the "link-number" in the "child name" of the descriptor - like this:
IDE05145-ENG116480-Light configuration-Lasttyp 32 &
ENG116968-ENG116480-Leuchte32AMBL 2C35-Lasttyp 32
There are 6 x config-sets in which the settings appear to have a close correlation to the settings in its twin Leuchte-set. For these closely correlated config-sets, whenever a stored valued of a matching Leutche channel is changed, the corresponding stored value of the Lighting configuration channel automatically appears to change to the altered value.
The close correlation config-sets are: Low Beam Headlamp, Front Turn Indicator and Daytime Running Lamp (left and Right lamps in each case). The only linking aspect for these lights is that they are all part of the front headlight assembly albeit the High beam lamp is curiously missing from the list.
In the newer style , my hunch is that the individual config channels have been coalesced into a single channel and the very-long hex-string is simply the concatenation of the setting values in the older style . I haven't actually counted the number of hex-pairs in
IDE05145-Light configuration channel - but I'm not sure that it matters if there aren't 665 x bytes (i.e. there appears to be no point in duplicating the settings in the old closely correlated config-sets)
As to how to decode each of the individual Bytes in the new Light configuration channel - I suspect that the only ones who know are the wizened elves that Uwe keeps imprisoned in chains in the moldy dungeons at Ross Tech HQ. And as all forum members know - elves tell no tales
