Hi folks,

Just returned from Audi. They replaced my fuel flap stuff under warranty. For a while now I've been getting an error code on vcds as per here I thought this was something to do with my rear cabin HVAC. turns out it was my fuel flap switch! What gives?! Why would a fuel flap through an HVAC ERROR?

Have you considered the possibility that the fault code regarding your rear HVAC controls is simply not related to whatever Audi did with your fuel flap?

Initially, of course. But then I noticed simillar verbiage within their scan. "operating unit". Their scan also didn't reveal an HVAC fault! Just that one fuel flap fault. Hence why I'm now reporting it in here

Well, if that fault were found in one of the BCMs and referenced HVAC controls, I'd wonder if there was something wrong somewhere. But since the fault is clearly in the rear HVAC control head, I just don't see how it can be related to the fuel filler flap. Fault codes are not stored in some central computer in your car; they are stored in the individual modules, which is why we have to go and query each one.
