I think it's a wiring fault, but I bought a used solenoid block, no luck. I've had a look at the wiring near the battery on solenoid plug, also seems pretty solid, cleaned up the ground wires as well. Where else should I be looking?

T60 ECU
T6f N75
T14a black connector. near relay carrier electronics box

T60/29 goes to T6f/5 via T14a/11. blue/black.
T6f/3 is a common positive connection with N18 and N213 to fuse 10 on fuse holder B (10amps), connects to T6r/4 and /1 as well. Black/red.

You haven't told me what the N18? N213?

What about pins 2 5 6 on the solenoid connector, are they relevant to this problem?

T60/29 goes to T6f/5 via T14a/11. blue/black; The continuity is good between ECU plug and solenoid valve PLUG.

I'm guessing this black/ red wire is cause for the short to plus? Short to plus, does it meaning there is a break in wire or it's touching another wire.

T6f is shared by N75, N18 and N213. N18 is the EGR solenoid and N213 is the low pressure EGR valve.
Positive goes to 1, 3 and 4 while 5 goes to the ECU for operating N75.
2 and 6 are used for resp N18 and N213.

What the ECU is complaining about, is that the wire that goes to T60/29 probably has 12V on it (short to plus) while it shouldn't have that.

I'm guessing there is some kind of short in the wiring, either at T6f itself or somewhere in the wiring (or even at T14a).
Based on the used solenoid you bought and had the same error, I'm (precatonarily) ruling it out for now.

Thank you, you're a Legend. But I'm even more stumped now, Tested it no idea where the power is coming from, hoping it's not a fault ECU. With the car negative battery terminal disconnected, and the multimeter COM port on the negative and Voltage port on the T14a/11. blue/black, I'm getting a strong 12v from it. Makes no difference if the n75 is connected. When I connect the back the car negative terminal it drops to about 3v. Went around disconnecting the fuses and relay in the engine bay, and also the fuses inside the car, multimeter stayed there at 12v. How can that be...?

Oh yeah I also cut the wire just before it travels down into the engine bay, the power is coming from the ecu side not the fuse box side.

is this with the ECU connected or disconnected? This might a 'diagnostic' voltage sent by the ECU or as jack would call it' asshole voltage'. It quickly disappears under load.
If ECU connected, disconnect and measure again. Or you could have a look at T14a for some shorts or water ingress...

Oh ok yes you're right thanks, with the ECU disconnected the power goes away. Can the ECU still send this diagnostic voltage if the T14a/11. blue/black is cut off?

What's happening now is that with the ECU disconnected there is no power what so ever in that wire.

But if I connect the ECU and leave the T14a/11. blue/black that runs to the ecu open/ unconnected and with the multimeter COM port on the negative of battery and Voltage port on the T14a/11. blue/black that is running down the engine into the fuse box I'm guessing. I'm only getting the 12v when the N75 Solenoid valve is connected. Could the ECU be sending diagnostic voltage to the N18 and N213 and it's coming back around somehow? Tested both the old and new to me N75, voltage goes up as soon as I connect them up to the plug.

Fuse box SB10 --bk/rd--- T6f/3 - |N75| - T6f/5 -- bl/bk -- T14a/11 -- bl/bk -- T60/29 (ECU)
If you disconnect T6f from N75, I guess it makes sense that you're measuring 12V on both /3 and /5.
As soon as you disconnect the ECU, /5 should fall dead, this happens.

It looks like the wiring is correct, there is no resistance between N75 and ECU and no stray voltage.
The positive side of N75 seems to be correct as well.

At this point, I'm not sure what to blame to be honest.

Alright thanks guy, I guess I have to take it in. Do you think it's worth me trying another N75?

I'm not sure this is what I done. I was measuring power from the wire that goes to T60/29, "T14a/11" I cut this to try and isolate the ECU. With the ECU isolated the other half of this wire was only receiving power when the N75 was connected. I didn't disconnect the T6f.

I think 1K0906279B is the right one, thats the bracket. The solenoid itself would be 6Q0906625E.

Basically, what you've been trying to do is:
- make sure the wire from N75 to ECU has continuity end to end
- there is no interference from other wires (short circuit, corrosion)

If the blue/black wire is the only continuous wire, connecting T60/29 to T6f/5, via T14a/11, your wiring is fine.

Ok wonderful, that hit the nail on the head. I think I'm getting somewhere now. After following that wire and cutting it bit by bit. I finally ended near the headlight, there is another plug just down the headlight, can't reach it to unplug and inspect , Might by a bumper and headlight off job.

But I think my problem lies there. Tested the continuity and resistance between the wire just before the plug and a blue/black wire I found under the fuse box, not sure if it was the same wire, it's hard to follow once it goes under the heard light. The resistant have in the Ks and continuity failed short to beep.

So I ran my own cable from the ECU, straight to that wire in the fuse box, much to my annoyance the fault code changed to Short to Ground!!!

Lol I was talking rubbish, ignore last post. The headache is finally over. I sent the ECU for testing, came back with no fault found... waste of money. I wasn't convinced, went on eBay bought a remapped ECU with immo removed. Fault gone, limp mode gone and the car absolutely flies.
