    2003 24v VR6 AXK sporadic P1152s

I have a 2004 Rialta/2003 Eurovan and I go camping frequently from Southern California to Utah and Colorado. I've been getting sporadic P1152s. One time I had a P1152 and P1151 at the same time and I’ve had P0420 once but it hasn’t reoccurred. The P1152s occurs randomly. When they do occur the car runs like crap (feels like it's missing or flooded) and I can hear the fuel pump buzzing when I pull over and stop. If I wait a couple hours or overnight the symptoms are gone but may reoccur after a few hour of driving I've included a link to a csv log file which I was running when the event occurred. It was after 5+ hours of driving that day and 20 minutes after filling up and it was hot (90s). Look at group 32 field 2 on line 904 and watch it start climbing.

I've read about what needs to be explored to isolate the cause but I don't have all the tools to do the diagnostics and there isn't a VW mechanic that will work on it within 60 miles and the problem can't be reproduced on demand.

    Thanks for your help.

Normally, I would say those faults are indicative of an intake air leak, but your fuel pump buzzing makes me wonder.. Are you sure there's a correlation?

The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.

Except when this problem occurs the car runs great, starts in a second and I'm averaging 15.5-17 mpg.

It seems to occur usually under strain, higher speeds or elevation gain, you can see engine load in the linked log file. The fuel pump noise is odd because when I pull over I'm idling but the buzzing continues 3-4 minutes. Is there something else under the drivers seat that would make a noise? The vehicle has about 86,000 miles. In the log file it recovered on it's own without pulling over after about 10 minutes.

The brake booster hose leaking is a known issue on the AXK Eurovan.

Fuel filter should not be dismissed or the actual FPR.
