Seat Ibiza 6F Crash Mode deactivation

Hi,

im trying to deactivate the crashmode of the steering assist (module 44) on a brand new Seat Ibiza 6F. Car was crashed and repaired, i only need to fix the steering assist so i can do calibration.

I tried the same procedure as EPS_TRW_Alow (but with different security access: 19249).

I tried it with Odis, VCP and VCDS but all the systems say "pre conditions not met". What are those conditions?

It appears that you may have a damaged steering angle sensor. Have you tried re-calibrating it? If not it may require replacement.

Have you replaced the steering wheel?? Have you checked the clock spring? The errors are showing that there is a comms errors from the stalks/ steering depending on where your selection buttons are.

No original steeringwheel, but new airbag.

Errors of stalks are fixed because of wrong coding. Module16 is error free now.

Did you replace the airbag with the correct one with MFSW wires?
I'd advise you to double check the part numbers and connections from the airbag and slip ring.

I have a solution that has been tested as working one for this particular steering rack with crash shut down activated.

You need to flash the steering rack to 144M first and then downgrade it back to 144J. Flash is to be done in following order:

1. 2Q1909144ZT BOOT
2. 2Q1909144M frf file
3. 2Q1909144ZU BOOT
4. 2Q1909144J frf file
5. Online parameterization and coding using ODIS. Mandatory step.

This is 100% verified and working solution.

Can be done if you have the steering rack dataset. Which unfortunately is not available.

So at the moment only ODIS online.

Guys i had the same problem as above on a Seat Arona which has the same MQB 2 generation steering system.You cannot reset these module until you are connected to the Geko system and remove the firmware reset-lock.Tthese is very unique to these modules on Polo 2018 Ibiza 2018 and Arona and some Q2s.
I tried every trick available and i was not successful until i found these guys on ebay who does the job.All you need to do is copy the original coding by VCDS and send the module to them and you will get it back Virgin.Simply put back the coding and it work as new.

Not even the dealerships are aware and the technicians have not been updated on these modules as i came to realise.I spoke to several dealerships and they only know of the earlier procedure for the earlier modules only and not these new ones.They are only instructed to replace them and replacing cost £300 new module and £40 coding it is terrible !!!
