NO. I didn't omit anything from the logs. That would be a violation of JPPSG Section something, part other thing.

but seriously, I said I had egg on my face and admitted that I had misfires. I'm not hiding anything.

If we don't work with the truth, how will we fix the REAL problem???

The name Catahula, is actually from my dog. She is a Catahula Leopard dog. I kinda chose a nickname when I signed up.

If I were to change it, it would probably be "Christopher@IbrokemyEuropean_Parts"

I'll go with Kahlua though.

So what are we doing here?

Did you try the crimp tests of the DV's signal and N75 bifurcated line to the snails to see if we can create an over boost condition?

I'm not trying to keep you waiting, or waste your time, but it is raining hard here, and I am not doing it today.

My garage is a mess, by the time I could pull the car in, it would be time for bed.

I'm pussing out hard.

Tomorrow. Over boost or bust?

if it quits raining, I'll do some vac tests, (quick to clean up if it rains)

So...


I did a little testing today. I cleaned up a couple of spots that looked not so right on some shrink wrap on the coils, checked DV's, and checked out my N75.

DV's hold fine. Vacume test, and push in the plunger and cap the vacumme port test. Both passed fine.
N75, electrically, has 30 ohms, clicks open and closed with jumper wires, but vacumme doesn't seem to hold on the closed no power side. Leaks down bad.

I didn't have time to clamp and try to overboost (by much)

I'll order a N75, replace and report, if I read your response right as "Nope, (not jumping to conclusions)".

I just wonder why a protection would only cut cyl. 6. I guess if I read the auto scan as "random misfires detected" that would make sense, to get someone to back off. and finally cut only 1 cylinder to press the point. Cutting all cylinders wouldn't be "Limp mode" it would be dead in the water mode.

I might be reading too far into this though and take a duck as a duck.

I took pictures with my phone, but I'm not smart enough to figure out how to post pictures on here. I don't have anywhere to host it, so I don't have a URL. I tried posting from my phone, but it is dumber than me, and won't make posts.

Even after writing an entire post from a phone. (That's really annoying). What's more annoying, is that i took a great photo of some asphalt. I really zoomed in to make it an "Enhanced Ground" as requested along with actual pictures of what I did.

I ran 14awg from each coil (#4 socket....as listed earlier in this thread) to the grounding stud on the intake manifold. (I originally listed it as the head....my mistake....and we disagreed that the grounding stud wasn't a good place to ground the electrical system. Even though the bolts holding the head on actually went into the block, thus grounding to the block, even though there are gaskets. You actually seemed to think I grounded to the valve cover....if you recall...and I agreed that that would be dumb.

Don't get mad, I'm just jogging your memory. I'm sure you don't read all of my responses. or at least you take what you want from them.

Anyway, I have pictures, I'll gladly post them if someone can tell me how.

More importantly Jack, are you going to hold me hostage on your opinion until I show the pictures?

The bolt on the head, VC or even block, it doesn't matter, especially when the harnesses and connectors to the coils & to each directly, FAIL & where they make a connection to coil or within the actual harness.

So you ran a new wire to the bolt, "congratulations", you are part way to the actual component! :rolleyes:

I have found, that I need to run two new ground wires per coil, to a bus or "your bolt", with a verified size back to battery.

14 AWG insufficient!

I don't know what your hard on is about these damn coils. Plenty of cars run just fine on "Horse Shit" connections.

No it is not sufficient.......... :rolleyes:

Each coil should be with overlay for both grounds to a bus back to battery.

In addition the triggers for each coil integrated power-stage, should be beefed up too, but not as important, unless maybe wanting to get crazy with a shield and the B+ feed bus should be sent via a clarity module for a stock, let alone a modified car!

Shitty connections and or insufficient connections under load for the ignition system absolutely matter.

When I get time post or dig up pictures I will get to it, I don't see what is so hard for you to understand here.
