Hi guys,
I was just about to do a brake fluid flush on my '13 A8 and someone told me that I need to use the VCDS for this procedure. Is that true? I thought it was just a matter of using the power bleeder to push fluid through the system and open the bleeder valves on each caliper. What would i be using the VCDS for?

Good question. A scan tool is generally not needed unless the reservoir has been allowed to run dry or certain components such as the ABS pump or valve body have been replaced.

Thanks for clarifying it for me , Uwe. Nothing's been replaced and the reservoir has never been below the "full" mark... All I'm doing is the 2 year flush like Audi recommends. Do you suggest flushing the ABS pump as well, or would a regular flush be OK?

My personal opinion is that a regular flush is sufficient.
