Golf 7 MY2017 - U1110 fault

Hi

new to this forum.
Has anyone come across below fault in Address 17. When deleting this error the message "Fault in road sign recognition" occurs for a few seconds in the instrument cluster.
The fault returns after a short drive.
The car has ACC with the large camera in the wind shield.

The above is not an "Unknown fault". It definitely has descriptive text: "Function Restricted due to Interrupted Communications"

I would guess something earlier than a HEX-V2 or HEX-NET?

Are you sure it works properly in your car, maybe i remember wrong but i thought that cable works in vag cars to 2015??

That's why you get the message on address 4B - some newer cars need a HEX-V2 or HEX-NET to be able to read all modules.

I reckon it would help if you could find someone local with a HEX-V2 or HEX-NET to scan your car as that would give more information on the fault code:

It appears to be related to a data issue processing TRE (Traffic Sign Recognition). It is and has been a known issue for years but can be resolved by updating the maps. It shouldn't affect any functions as it's a notification only but is annoying. It will only happen once during any period of driving.
I have known it to be related to certain variants of clocks but to date there is no permanent fix.

I see windshield camera has also low software level.
But update possibility depends on VW if they have released SVM for Your model.

Fault codes, especially intermittent ones are kinda normal thing on today's VW. I think on Q7 4M if you drive off road, You already have a PSD fault code.

Don't worry about the acronyms. Sometimes there are software updates for your modules which the dealer would need to update. There are TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) where issues are reported and logged.

well map updates didn't do the trick. I still get the fault. I guess I'll have to live with this. The local VW dealer also had a look at it. I returned the car without clearing the fault. They claimed they didn't see any faults when connecting with their diagnostic tool.

Correct, remove "UDS Aggressive", see here.
