Can you explain how you did this? I tried doing as you said and put your file in the User directory (overwrote the existing one), and did the following;

- choose module 8 (auto HVAC)
- Go to adaptions
- choose "cut-in behaviour"
- select active AND check soft reset
- press ok

I get the same errors as in my original post in this thread.

It sounds like you missed out the most important step:

All needed is a switch to the engineering session (4F) prior to changing the value.

I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but I can't figure out what it is.

I'm using a Micro-Can cable and the latest version of the software. When I enter module 8 and select security access and enter the code S12345 I get an error saying the value should be a 5 digit number. If I enter 12345 it gives an error something along the lines of not supported.

Something went wrong with the label file, if you didn't get the balloon tip with the S12345 login. Can you post an Auto-Scan excerpt of the HVAC module (08)?

That's correct, I do not get a balloon tip.

Is this the scan you need?

Yup, that is correct. But it doesn't seem to use the correct label:

Address 08: Auto HVAC (J255) Labels:| 5G0-907-044.clb

This should be User\5G0-907-044.clb
Can you please double check, that you have the file from my previous post in your C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Labels\User directory (assuming you installed it to the default path).

Yes I have the file you posted earlier and it's in the user folder, and called 5G0-907-044.clb

I have just done a re-scan and it now shows the Labels as "* None". I did the previous scan I posted above about a month ago;

Address 08: Auto HVAC (J255) Labels:* None

Component: Climatronic H04 1702

A scan shows Labels as "* None", anything else I can try, or is the clb file incorrect?

Dear everyone,

changing the described adaption channel "MAS07251-Cut-in behaviour" ("MAS07251-Einschaltverhalten") is possible through VCDS. I can confirm this changes the HVAC to remember the last setting.

All needed is a switch to the engineering session (4F) prior to changing the value.

I've created a small label file, which can be placed in the Labels\User directory, which will allow the SA "S12345" to switch to the developer/engineering session.
You can grab it here: https://ufile.io/xg7k1z0i (available 30 days).

(If any of this is unwanted by Uwe and the RT team, please feel free to edit this post)

Maybe RT puts something like this in a future label revision. Wish you all a merry christmas.

I'm really late to this topic but e-Golfs weren't sold in PA for very long and I didn't pick up my (used) 2017 SEL until late 2020. I'm currently testing some Heat Pump (Address C5) steps but I can definitely test and add Mode 4F to this 08 label file. I'm not a fan of the 72F default at any time of the year! 64F in Winter, 74F in Summer would be brilliant.

Update, I can confirm that the suggestion from TBAx is correct. This tweak was possible:
Address 08 5GE 907 044 AN channel MAS07251-Cut-in behavior adapted from not activated to Matching coding Thursday 14 July 2022 19:56:48:31050

After doing so the HVAC resumed at 75F instead of 72F but that was after a short key off/on cycle. The true test will be tomorrow when I get into to after being locked all night.

Next, I'm not a fan of the AC compressor deciding to turn back on every time you start the car after its been locked for 10+ min. I'm in the habit of using the start/stop button followed immediately by pressing the [Off] climate button 8/12 months out of the year. So, adding to the trial run I added a coding tweak to the mix:
Address 08 5GE 907 044 AN recoded (Long Coding) from 0002220020011001050500021211102B to 0002220010011001050500021211102B (01357/011/00200) Thursday 14 July 2022 19:59:30:31050

If "Recirculation Air Settings (after Ignition Cycle) stored" means last HVAC position (i.e. on or off) instead of the Recirculation function I'll be thrilled. Time will tell.

I'll edit this entry as needed and push the label file changes to the next VCDS version so they become available in the next update.

Edit. 8 AM update the next day. Success on both levels!

1) Special SA code S12345 >Adaption channel MAS07251-Cut-in behavior from not activated -to- Matching coding worked
2) Coding Byte 4 drop-down selection Recirculation Air Settings (after Ignition Cycle) stored resulted in the HVAC resuming OFF after I unlocked it, held the brake and used the start/stop button (to put it into READY mode) as if I was going to drive.
