Hi guys
I have a problem with a Polo 6R abs unit. I installed a new cluster and forgot to save abs unit long coding. Is not possibile to create by vcds.
Is possible on vw service only. I send you autoscan, can you create long coding for me?
Thanks
Regards
Danilo

Hi Keithuk
I don't find it in ross-tech wiki....
On Polo 6r coding is particular because it has some part of VIM number.
Can you help me for it?
@Sebastian can help me?

ESP8.2i (and similar extremely long coded controllers such as MK60EC1) modules are typically coded online using the dealer scan tool with a direct connection to VW/Audi headquarters. The process is called SVM, which is a system used by VW/Audi to flash update control modules, and in certain cases, to change their Coding, Adaptation and unlock Component Protection.

We do not have enough information at this point in time to build the long coding from scratch but if you have a scan saved with the original configuration we should be able to help you enter the proper coding. If you do not have a scan saved in the original condition I would send the vehicle to the dealer for coding.

I'm starting to like Seb's suggestion more and more: Automatically save every Auto-Scan done, whether the user wants it saved or not. ;)

Hard to disagree.

I had figured your long-term direction on this class of problems (coding, immo, CP) would be Cloud-based, though.

Try this base coding and see if it accepts it.

If you really do not want to do SVM, i would come up with this:
210228E3217200BA842914E984D800401300
or:
210228E3217200BA842914E982D800401300
No guaranties at all!

Guys, please do not randomly use coding values w/o any verification. These ESP systems will accept several incorrect values and not tell you that they are wrong, so just because it's accepted and no fault codes are stored doesn't mean it's a good value. There is only one value which is correct, the fact that you get two possible values from one source should already make you wonder. ;) No hard feelings Jack/Niels, but there is a reason why we don't give these values out just yet...

FWIW, Niels's values are closest I believe while whichever calculator Jack is using here - it's totally off base. :p

Okay cool
What is totally off base Sebastian...........?

Considering I have no Polo's here to play with............ I consider your additional smartass comment totally justified :)
However, I have had good luck starting with a wrong base coding, that takes a few different codes as you aforementioned, and then tweaking as I go to select the errors out I observe.

You have to have something in there that is accepted first based off the VIN, Engine data, and brake size,................ before you can make selection changes from a big FAT zero.

Personally I like the idea of mandatory strongly warned auto saved auto-scans!
A key called controller rescue config data folder based on VIN and IMMO ID for each file before you get started.
Its very own folder dedicated to it to be saved or exported.

I use this procedure:
Code:
ESP-Sensor Unit (G419)
[Select]
[03 - ABS Brakes]
[Security Access - 16]
Enter 40168
[Do It!]
[Basic Settings - 04]
Group 069
[Go!]
Field 2 should show OK after a successful Calibration.
[Done, Go Back]
[Meas. Blocks - 08]
Group 010 Field 1/2 (Longitudinal Acceleration Sensor (G251))
Specification: ±1.25 m/s²
[Done, Go Back]

[Fault Codes - 02]
All fault codes should have disappeared.
[Done, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]
After security access, I go to basic settings and group 69 doesn't exist in my abs unit
This is my problem

I guess that is for Audi A4 (8E).
What are the error codes (new autoscan).
Have you tried Basic settings MB 063 (instead of MB 069)?
