Hi there,
Any help would be appreciated.
I had to receive cold-weather related jump start from another car (not a charging device).
I made the mistake to connect the negative cable directly to the negative terminal of the battery.
Car started but the infotainment console went dark.

I did check the fuses in banks F10 (MINI, Display, infotainment controls), F12 (ATO, Infotainment Services), F16 (MINI, Phone).
These fuses are fine.

Any ideas about other fuses that I could check?

P.S. Correction year is 2015, not 2018

New Info:
I let the car run and:
- Checked all fuses in both fuse boxes (inside and engine) with a multimeter - all fuses are fine.
- I also took out and plugged back in the fuses for the infotainment system (hoping for some sort of reboot)

No cigar ...

OK, the 5F module (your Infotainment) is definitely off-line.

Does anyone know if those MIB1 units have a dedicated fuse on the back of them like so many older VW/Audi radios did?

Moni, I suggest you to clear all fault codes the slow way; from the Auto-Scan screen, with 'Use CAN command' un-checked. Then cycle the ignition OFF and back ON again and re-scan. Reason: I think there are still spurious codes in various systems from your dead battery incident and I'd like to have them gone and to see what comes back.

OK, now the only faults left are IMO attributable to the 5F-Infotainment module being off-line.

One suggestion I received privately was: Try cold-booting it. You could do that by disconnecting the car's battery for a while, but if it were me, I'd do it by pulling the Infotainment unit, unplugging it from the car's harness and checking to see it it has its own fuse on the back of it, like so many other VW/Audi radios do. If it does, and that fuse is blown, well, you've found the culprit. If not, then while you have it out, you can use a meter to verify that the module is getting power as it should.

My MIB2.5 unit does not have one on the back. There might be one inside the housing, but since mine works i’m not really feel like busting seals unfortunately. I have seen pictures of other MIB units that do have one, visible when you disconnect the quadlock connector. If it doesnt have one, triple check if the right fuse in the fuse box is really okay (DVM), check power to unit as Uwe said, and as a last resort you could check if it has an internal fuse. Although voltage spikes can FUBAR electronics instantly and without burning through any fuses...
