If the HDD was the only thing that you changed out, no, you should not need a new license file.

PS: Moving to VCDS-Lite Support.
The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.
ok mate. am having trouble getting vcds to link to the car, so i could test before contacting you guys again.am sure this happened before, you recommended i change one of the values but i cannot remember what.
i know you guys don't support laptop interface, but if an one else can help?
device manager is saying unknown usb device
vcds is set to run in xp compatibility , laptop runs win 10
getting message in vcds when hit test : vcds lite port does not exist interface not found
got it working, ill email you guys for file.
