Hi there,

I hope I am doing this right. Never really been in a Forum and signed up to the second one now in one Month :-). I am a German fellow who chased his wife to DownUnder and now bought a German car and as of last week own's VCDS (quiet impressive tool). So much about me in a nutshell ;-).

I have done a scan on my Audi and expected no fault codes as it was recently in for a service and Audi said that there are no faults. Well seems like they've not seen these ones or it's of no significance, either way I was hoping to get a little insight from all the knowledgable highly respected heads here :-).

Now, here are my issues ;-).

Labels: Redir Fail!: Should I be worried or is this ok or something that can be fixed easy? It's on the engine unit so I am a bit worried...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Address 01: Engine (CDY) Labels: Redir Fail!

VCID: 2411113B82D90F17360-8070

No fault code found.
Readiness: 0 0 0 0 0

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Again a Redir Fail! ... but also a fault. If I understand VCDS right, this has occurred only one time back in 2016 and as priority is 5 its not too bad. Is this correct or should I be worried?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And to finish off with a bang, an actual Fault, I think. I haven't done any software updates (apparently this is connected to updating the MMI or similar) and have tried this resolution which doesn't work: http://www.audienthusiasts.com/Application_SVMError.html

My MMI is on P0022

Now, once again, I hope I did everything right opening this one etc. Please don't "hit" me if not but just constructive criticism ;-).

Cheers

"Redir Fail" is not indicative of a fault in your car. It means VCDS is aware that there could be a label file for that module, but that label file either doesn't exist yet at all, or doesn't exist in the language version of VCDS you are using.

If your radio works OK, I would just ignore the fault code at address 56.

The fault code at address 5F is indicative of the dealer not having done his job properly. VCDS can fix that if you want. What value do you currently have in Adaptation channel 015 of that module?

Hi Uwe, thanks for the clarification. Not sure which dealer would have done this one then. I bought the car from an Audi dealership in Melbourne and getting it serviced 1300 km north in Tamworth since mid last year. The last software related history I could find in the invoices was a ECU upgrade due to EGR cooler replacement and another with the dealership in Melbourne when they, as their records state, upgraded the GPS map in 2016.

The number you asked for is 28167. I have tried to change the value to 42965 (-> 28167 XOR 51666) but the error comes back every time I tried. But maybe I did it wrong? Followed the instructions in the link I postet previously.

I attached a photo of my MMI software status if that helps? (Can't find an option to upload images so I just write it here: Software version: HNav_EU_P0022_D1 / Nac. database version: 8R0060884DJ AN 5.8.6)

Thanks a lot.

I'm not sure if a map upgrade will cause that or not.

I've double-checked; that should be correct. I've not heard of that not working before.

Anyway, if it were my car and the infotainment system was working OK, I wouldn't it bother me too much.

Hmm, okay, I might check with Audi if they know what this could be.

Thanks for confirming that my method was right. Wired that it's not working though. The only thing I could imagine which I found online is this: Apparently for newer GPS software the MMI software needs to be upgraded to K0257. But GPS is working fine with P0022 so I am unsure.

Thanks for your help anyway!

Cheers
