Idiots. You burn it up in the right kind of reactor and you get waste with short half-lives. Oh, and lots of power too.

Fast breeder reactors (that 'burn' Plutonium) are the best friend of the nuclear industry - but they don't seem interested in using them (the last one in the UK was shutdown many years ago). Maybe the military just don't like the idea of their precious Plutonium being downgraded

It doesn't have to be a "fast breeder". A molten salt reactor will do it too, and since they operate at atmospheric pressure and they can be made "walk-away safe" (proven in the early 1970s!). See for example:

Some people are interpreting this as a proxy for a second Brexit referendum.

Others say it's a strong rejection of the Corbyn's leftism.

Bottom line: Labour and the LDs both lost a bunch of seats to the Conservatives. The only other party that had significant gains is the Scottish National Party, and I suppose we'll now see a Scottish independence movement re-kindled?

It has nothing to do with Corbyn, although a lot hated him because he wanted to bring back wealth to the many. It's all gone now so we're looking towards an independent England

Final result now declared (St Ives in Cornwall was delayed due to stormy weather delaying the ballot papers from the Scilly Isles getting to the count) so Conservatives have 365.

Jo Swinson lost her seat so is no longer leader of the Liberal Democrats, and Jeremy Corbyn has announced he is standing down as Labour leader.

Ireland reunification
I think the Loyalist terrorist groups would do their utmost to prevent that, which would mean a return to the bad days of "The Troubles"
