Wales has seen its subsidies repeatedly cut. They would actually benefit the most from independence as the UK give them the least and they host the largest continental employment due to industry. If Wales and Scotland went England would be back in time approx 200 years

But the largest industries they host are also barely profitable and at highest risk of closure by their global owners.

If all you consider is manufacturing industry (which I happen to believe is the only REAL industry) that's true, but England has mostly switched to a service economy which makes a larger and faster RoI - which is why manufacturing has been decimated in England.
