cust sts car was surging while on surface roads cruising around 45 mph. pulled codes 16804,17972,17551 and 16891. cleared codes and did a throttle relearn. while relearn was in process could hear noises stopping and coming back on also would lose data. after adpt checked for codes and got this 17987. after a few more attempts still hear throttle sometimes stopping but got adapt complete. now i have driven about 25 miles with out any issues. I know someone around here always talks about oxygen sensor, but without any codes? or any other suggestions?

It could indeed be bad OXS sensors or if corrosion is in a connector and in some cases I have found that idiots that spray the bay with a lubricant such as WD40 to make it shit shine, it will cause this condition to for a run away or unintended acceleration effect, so is it shit shine of some type?

Check the 6 wires from TV to ECU and maybe do overlay.

Unplug other consumers, other than to keep alive to isolate a brown out.
