Can you describe your process for the swap?

I have a 2017 Sportwagen, I have a GTI 3D MFA Cluster I want to swap in. I cant find much if any info, on Component protection, the swap process its self, nothing.

Any guidance will be GREATLY appreciated

I believe any VW dealership can code your GTI cluster to your Golf 7 using ODIS. The tech won't be able to adjust the mileage if the cluster you're installing has more than 100KM clocked on it, though. The graphics for representing the car in the MFD might also not match your Golf. It will depend on the firmware in the EPROM.

So I finally got my Active Info. Display (AID) installed in my Alltrack!

I ran the optical splitter cable from behind the MIB2 in the glovebox to the cluster and had it coded to the car (along with the keys) using ODIS at my local VW dealership. The optical cable was pretty easy to do, I just had to fish it through to the other side of the dash and plug it in to the new digital cluster:

Everything is working fine after coding with ODIS (gauges, speedo, lane assist, adaptive cruise), I've recoded module 17-Instruments, Byte 2, bits 3-6 so that the graphical representation of the vehicle matches that of my car (Golf Alltrack), as the default was a regular Golf and not a SportWagen:

The only feature I cannot enable has been the navigation map in the AID. I've tried coding the cluster (17-Intruments) to MOST (byte 19, bit 5) but I get an error message "31" saying the values are out of range:

Module 5F Byte 22, Bit 0 seems to be set for CAN and not MOST (0=MOST, 1=via CAN). Bit 0 in mine is checked. Should I uncheck it?

I was able to enable MOST in module 5F:

Dashboard_Display_Configuratio-fastlist_most ---> set to On

..but it still doesn't load the map in the AID. I get the spinning wheel at first when selecting NAV, then graphic reverts back to the compass.

Any help, tips or suggestions for getting this to work would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a lot issue is that the key doesn't pick up when i change the cluster to virtual so can get ignition on do get into the coding

is there a way to do this with Vcds or Odis only ?

is there no way you can read forum history ?
is too hard to use search button ? not many people who did that retrofit, but every single person use one, and ONLY one solution = ODIS

i see everyone is fitting them and we tried this yesterday . could not get ignition on , when we fitted to stock clusters in the brakes module was deleted this was very odd, hence i asked has anyone done this with Kessy , looking for answers i can find

no matter kessy or no kessy
IMMO is always IMMO.

If you do retrofiting, you know that not all retrofits can be do easy
and keep backup / coding is a first what every retrofitig guy shoud do

Chrisfz, try holding the key against the side of the steering column when you start matching the new components with ODIS.

Howzit bud . i send the car to vw and they messed it up . i sourced the products for the customer and got vw to do the fitment , due to i have never fitted the virtual cluster so very much new waters for me .... .. now vw has messed it up , so cluster removed and coded back to waht is was , but now i wan tto make it right with the customer and get it done .

No Luck . customer sold the Gti and bought a Mk7 R . car started byt immobilizer kicked in so odis is asking for the key coil

I got mine coded and working with my Mk7 TDI yesterday - everything seems to be working great except for the map display in the active info display.

Data is obviously making it across as the cluster shows the compass and elevation (how high above sea level) in one of the tachometer centre view options, but no display data.

I've reviewed the coding suggested here and in other forums, but still no luck. Here's what I did (multiple "tube_version" entries because I was trying out different car-views.

When the car have Kessy the ignition is done by Odis and by online pulse. Is not possible with other. Always make the backup from abs pump because coding is needed when swap cluster.

When you want to see the maps in cluster only coding is needed in 5F module. Unless you got already navi installed coding in 17 is no needed.

Thanks to user mpolak77 over at the Vortex for helping me solve the maps not showing up.

One additional Adaptation in 5F:
Dashboard_Display_Configuration-ability_switch_nav_maps ---> Off

This is contrary to bbusato's how-to thread, which says to turn this adaptation "on" - not sure why it's different with mine; maybe because Mk7, not 7.5? I have a MIB2 conversion?
