I am going to attempt to disable rear marker lights, but to do this I have to change settings:

central convenience II
byte 2
bit 3 North American region disable

Will this setting change anything else on the vehicle?

Seems different than Audis, but post the module number for extra safety. The rear ones on my new S6 (on the same central convenience module <46>, but channels 209 and 210), were already disabled, supposedly, but the single side LEDs are on, so maybe they're not considered 'rear reflectors'? Asked Euro owners but nobody replied. Would like to disable them, but since the channels were already set to 0 and 32 (the disabled state), maybe it's not possible. Who knows. The front ones were disabled successfully, however, but in another module (central electronics <09>). If the bit says in plain english what it's for, zero worries man; just do it. And you could actually test it before changing it, if you want. That's what I did with the front ones since there was no text. Good luck.

A basic pre-requisite for this sort of information here is an auto-scan so people can see what vehicle you are enquiring about and the equipment which it has. At the moment you have said you want to disable rear marker lights, ok but on an Audi, VW, an A3 8V or an A6 C6? Two very different cars with very different methods.
