Hello,

I am looking for a way to disable the ACT system (Active Cylinder Technology) with VCDS program on Golf VII 1.5 Tsi 150hp.

Is somebody know how to proceed?

I think that we can manage something with the speed step of activation (in my memory, system is active when speed is > 80kph).

as I made handling tests (I am test driver for tires), jerking, when ACT system switch off and restart cylinders activity, is very disturbing (yaw acceleration variations).

I joined the forum to confirm the armin63 observation on ACT.

While in the city is probably effective, it's a PITA on country roads and highways when the surface is anything but flat.

I'd really use a configuration that could disable the ACT. Any suggestions for a workaround ?

I hate this function because there is an engine resonance when ACT is working. This rattle noise disturb me.

I really doubt this is possible via the diagnostic API.

If you really want to change this, I suggest you contact a tuner who can adjust the firmware and maps in your ECU.

Yes, I also think it's the only way to disable ACT but in France it's forbidden... in case of big crash, insurer should control firmware version and leave you alone to solve your BIG problem!!! I think it's not normal but it's the FRENCH WAY of life... rules rules rules and more rules!!!

I come bak with good news!
Finally, if there's no power increasing, my insurer is ok with a new firmware. As I'm at the end of VW guarantee, it's time to do it!
I'll go to Shiftech Luxembourg to shut off the COD/ACT technology and make the car smoother. It's expensive but I think is it worth it. :)

YES!
For 490€, SHIFTEC Luxembourg made a very good job. Really serious and the car is really really smooth, it's a great pleasure to find a new car. ACT/COD is not just a shut down system, it make engine really rough when preparing the shut down by fuel feeding regulation. So even when it's not on ACT/COD mode, your engine is not as pleasant as it can be. I haven't noticed any consumption increasing but I'll test it on long highway trip...

After more than 500kms trip, I can consider there's no consumption increasing. 5.5l/100km... whith air conditionner at 22°C (35°C out temp). All is fine!
I replenished the fuel tank to be sure and ODB's consumption is realistic.

Always no consumption increasing after more than 2000kms except in city trafic where ACT shuts down cylinders in low speed cruise... but I don't mind, it's not a city car.

No my car isn't DSG but my parents' passat is the same car but sedan with DSG with the same result (CZEA engine).
More than 35000kms after removing ACT. 100% satisfied. Quick response, no consumption increasing, really smooth and quiet.
Not really a remap, no more power or anything else, just always on 4 cylinders like with CZDA engines. It was a bit expensive but honestly, before removing ACT I was looking to sell the car. Now I really love it.
The expert paid by the insurance said "yes, it's not normal, running with 2 cylinder can't be smooth but it's the solution found by VW and you don't like it, VW says it's normal and there's no way to make VWsolve the problem. Make the ECU don't use this technology and it'll be ok for the insurance..."
I sent the bill to my insurance to be sure that they are awared of ECU modification.
Some people are OK with ACT but I tested more than 20 cars from VW and Audi dealers, brand new and used cars, ...all are working with ennoying vibrations, not huge but really annoying. When you buy a petrol engine, you don't want diesel vibrations!
