    No substitution for circumventing basic mechanical tests when DTC's exist or using the RTFB as per the JPPSG.

    Looking back through my notes, I found I did not change the plugs. Plugs pictured were in the car when I got it. Gaps measure .029" - .030".
    I indeed recall a guy at dealership taking an entire engine apart and even though he installed new plugs they were bad.........I also recall a new plug failing in Santos 1.8T & which is pretty rare and it happened in front of Uwe while present too and I specifically recall Uwe paying attention to my protocol with comment as I did a compression check first before I changed or swapped the plug to move the DTC.

    I still consider not doing a compression check first an ultimate fail........

    I will do a compression check sometime soon, as it isn't a pressing matter at the moment. I have other projects and commitments needing my attention, now that my favorite car is running well. Thanks again for your input.
