I tried, but as usual, "search" here and on the usual VW TDI forums did not come up with anything.

Is there a procedure anywhere on how to use the VCDS to read the Diesel Particulate Filter status with regard to how much it is clogged?

TIA!

This varies a great deal by engine, ECU, etc. Please post an Auto-Scan so people can see exactly what you've got.

Thanks Keith, but I do not want to "start a regeneration".

I was just curious what my numbers are.

I did not get to that screen, but I did get to an Advanced Measuring Values screen and came across various data such as oil ash volume: 0 ml.

I'll check this more out in the next few days.

That doesn't start a regeneration it just shows when it was last done and what the ash & carbon figures are so you can tell how full its getting.

A lot of cases too high carbon mass does not mean that filter must be replaced.
The main data is filter pressure in different loads/situations while driving.

Some good info here.

look above and below number of measuring block too. look for an pay attention to blocks which are labeled soot vs Ash. the regen turns soot to ash. soot should build up, and reduce as the regens happen. the ash load increases, but only changes every 8-10,000 miles or so.
