I have the HEX V2 using the USB interface. I connected it to my laptop and started up the VCDS application. The HEX V2 plug flashes green twice on one side and turns off. It is unable to recognize the HEX V2 device and does not make any connection. I clicked test and I got the pop up " Ross-Tech USB interface Not Found". Please help , what should I do?

What's the behavior of the LEDs if you plug it into a car? (No computer, just a car)?

With interface plugged in, try opening the VCIConfig utility and checking for updates.

Hex V2 no response

I have the hex v2 diagnostic tool and was initially trying to scan my Audi B6 1.8t. When I plugged everything up to the port, the Hex v2 flashed yellow constantly and never turned green... What does that mean? It won't let me scan the vehicle at all.

Also, I tried updating my software to see if that might be the problem and it doesn't recognize the Hex v2 when it's plugged into my laptop, I tried all 3 USB ports and nothing worked. What do I need to do to get this working? Please help.

Flashing yellow when just plugged into a car is correct/normal.

I'm guessing you have a defective USB cable. Do you have a regular USB A to USB B "printer" cable somewhere you can try?

We'll get another USB cable sent out to you. Please confirm you're still at the same address we shipped the HEX-V2 to.

It flashes yellow constantly with no connection to the laptop. When I try to update after clicking config , the "update" is not clickable.

I'll try the usb A Or B cable in the morning.

Yes I'm at the same address that it was shipped to. (Zip code 32207), thank you for posting promptly. I really appreciate you.

I tried a printer USB A/B cable and connected it to the car. The Hex V2 tool flashed maybe green 3-4x (on the left side of the tool) then flashed yellow continuously. I received a "Failure to communicate" message.

Now when I plug it up to the laptop alone using the printer USB A/B cord, it didn't do anything(no lights flashing).

When you say the same issue, is the LED behaviour the same?
If you just plug it into the USB (not the car), what colour are the LEDs?

Silly question, but I have to ask. I assume the other end of the USB cable was plugged into a PC at the same time?
Do you have any other USB cables you could try? Just a standard printer cable will do.

Have you used a power invertor to power your laptop from the car's 12v socket while using VCDS by any chance?
I could be wrong but it sounds to me like it could be a ground loop failure.
