VCDS - Engine Running or Shut Down?

Hello,

To prevent battery drain during the odd time when I am running VCDS with the ignition switched on for a while, is it OK to have the VCDS connected and operational with the engine idling.

It's not only okay, it's actually required for certain diagnostic tests.

If you're going to be playing for hours, it might be wise to invest in a decent battery charger, but that's only to save on engine wear and tear.
