Problems with coding touran headlights to a Caddy

Hello! new to the forum and with a problem i can´t find solution to by my own.

I have a 2012 Caddy that i have fitted from single H4 headlights to Touran double halogen H7,H15 headlights to.
When putting hi beam on the low beam light shuts off, on hi beam both hi and low should light together.
In adress 09 byte 18 i have changed in the scrollist to Caddy with double halogen (0C) and the code is accepted but it makes no difference on the light.
I have tried some other codes to and they get accepted but it makes no difference either.
I know it´s been done before and some caddy comes with these lights from factory but i can´t find the solution so i need some help please.

The autoscan is when i have coded it to double halogen 0C the code for the singel halogen H4 was 72.

Isn't there a bit in your BCM that says something like "Deactive low beam on high beam"?

Was there any change in the wiring?

No not what i can see and no change in the wiring.
if i hold the hibeam lever (lightflasher) towards me both low and hibeam lights up
if i push the hi beam lever forward to engage hi beam the low beam shuts off and only the inner hi beam lights up.

Hello,

Please see our How to get Verified thread. #2 should apply to you. If you register we can move this to the Retrofits sub-forum.

I took a look at a few factory Xenon equipped Golf Mk6 based scans and noticed this bit is NOT enabled: Byte 25, Bit 2 High Beam via Shutter active/installed. Even though you aren't looking for "shutter" functions I would tick that bit to see if the halogen high beam lighting changes both with factory and modified Byte 18 settings.

Bummer. I don't know the Touran well but managed to locate a scan from a 2011 with these PR codes:

8ID Halogen twin headlights
8K3 Separate daytime running lights with low beam assistant and "Coming Home" feature
8X1 Headlight washer system
8Q1 Headlight-range adjustment
8TD Rear fog light for driving on the left
8WA Without front fog light

If you don't find any answers comparing the coding bits I wonder if the wiring was different in some way? Did those Tourans with double Halogen have the front fog light option from the factory?

I tried bits of the coding unclicking the fogs and tried all sorts of combinations but with no luck, the lights just lights separately, low beam bulb shuts off when i pull the stalk to engage the high beam and only the high beam bulb lights up but when on low beam and i use the light flasher hi and low beam lights at the same time.
One strange thing with the Touran coding above byte 18 is coded for single halogen 72.

The Touran and Caddy is basicly the same car but the touran has a lower roofline.

Touran also uses the same single halogen headlights that i had on my car before my swap and the twin halogen lights is a upgrade factory option for both Caddys and Tourans.
Touran and caddy uses the same fogs, also a factory upgrade option.

I checked the wiring in the headlights and the are wired the same way just in the twin halogen one wire leads off to the hi beam bulb instead of as in the single halogen all wires goes to the double filament H4 bulb.
I also checked the cable connectors that attaches to the head light housing and they goes to the same light bulbs (blinker,Parking,drl) in both head lights well all lights works so i didn´t expect to find any fault in them.
So i don´t think there is a wire problem it´s just how i can make the low beam stay on at hi beam.
When using a H4 double filament bulb it´s correct to not be able to have low and hi beam on at the same time, the light bulb would burn out in a moment then.

This is driving me crazy and i have seen loads of caddys both retrofitted and with the twin halogen from factory so the answer is out there somewhere.
It´s getting darker and darker up here in Sweden now so the hi beam is really needed.

I got some help from the Caddy2k forum and it's probably my bcm thats not working with the twin halogen lights, due to old software version the byte 18 can't be changed to twin halogen.
A second hand bcm is ordered from a crashed car that had the twin halogen.
If i succeds with the new bcm i will post a new autoscan here.

great. be careful when you paste your coding to the new BCM.
I would recommend to go into the long coding helper and change it byte by byte, and don't touch byte 18!
so byte 0, manually write HEX code in the bar, byte 1, manually write.... byte 17, byte 19.... byte 27 (or whatever is the latest one), do it,

I got the lights to work:)
It was not my bcm:s older software version that was the trouble.
I was able to take an autoscan on a Edition 30 with twin halogen in a nearby city (nice guy) and i had bought a used bcm from a crashed Ed 30, installed the bcm and my lights worked right away, took a look at the coding and with the autoscan Dana found from a Touran all with twin halogen.
So with 3 autoscans i found byte 11 had the same coding 80 binary 10000000 it was here i had 82 in my old bcm.

In byte 11 there is no written box to tick in for the 0 maybe something to add for future updates?
I have post the Edition 30 autoscan in the reference scans and maps... thread
My latest autoscan with working twin halogenlights, hope it can help others out there.

Hello from Slovenia, I am new to this forum but i have ross tech hardware a few years from now.

Anyway, i have the same problem now.

The car is VW Caddy 2018, original lamps are H4, but guy replaced them with H7.

I have the cable for coding but i didnt see the option in module 09, that i can chose or recode that the low beam will work when you turn the high beam (low beams are not working when you put in high beam).

Must he replace the BCM or is possible some way to recode the module?
