Wow, ok, I tried those but alas no luck. I dug around and finally found a byte 18 list but it's hard to understand and none of the DOZENS of codes I tried worked. Still get various errors. I can get the DRLs to come on as parking lights, that's as close as I can get.

Welp. Now my BCM is bricked. Any magic solutions to fix besides just leaving unplugged for a while? This is a never ending nightmare. All because someone hit my car.

Fried. Address 9 unreachable. Car electronics such as lights, wipers, locks, etc. all totally haywire.

I'm guessing this cannot be salvaged but I'd love to hear if any experts have thoughts. Nobody from Ross Tech has chimed in on my thread thus far

I've already ordered a replacement (used) but it will take time to get here and although the car drives no lights work including turn signals.

The Mk.6 generation of BCMs is a total PITA. It's as if VW spec'd them to fail if you try too hard with Byte 18.

The engineering problems are likely insurmountable. It would be like proposing to land a rocket booster section on a barge floating in the middle of the ocean.

Not to mention 10,000 versions of what is supposedly the same part, each with different esoteric and totally indecipherable part numbers, which, if you "mess up" (ps what action constitutes is also unknown), either your car will have a wonderful bevy of new features all for free, or your car may explode.

    Fun.

So Uwe once I get the new BCM... any suggestions for coding OEM Xenon's onto a halogen-equipped 2012 Jetta GLI w/ already retrofitted RLS, euro switch and LED tails? I am also using a Kufatec halogen to xenon adapter.

Also, anyone want to buy a red 2012 GLI? It's got fresh paint on the front bumper!

If I did, I would have posted them already.

    Hello,

Have you already installed other bcm? The taillights are ROW. I have the good codingg for the total package but I need to know this. And the BCM must be at least software level 0173 to get the taillights work without fault.

    Let me know.

I haven't installed the new BCM, I am waiting for it to arrive tomorrow hopefully. This is what I purchased, I hope this is correct!

Thanks for your help! Functional coding would be so wonderful at this point
