Right now intake air is 33° C = about 90° f, so the sun is warming the radiator area up a bit.

One time I ran the engine with the MAF sensor unplugged, that probably accounts for any MAF problem you see.

I found where to set the maint thingie and set it to 12345 as suggested earlier. Now I'm running another scan with that set.

When I set my screen resolution to something 5that lets me read my small laptop screen RT doesn't display enough for me to click options. But when I set it back so RT displays ok, the options tells me that my screen size or width or whatever is set to 27, but when I tried to change that to a larger number it wouldn't accept the change. So I'm back to tiny script when I read windows messages.

Although we should still look at that MAF I would make sure the combi valve holds vacuum. If it isn't a PITA to remove you may even want to see if the valve moves freely and opens fully in addition to looking for plugged ports in the head. That doesn't happen often but at high mileage it wouldn't be unheard of.

Key on, engine Output tests won't help with readiness but the testing the fuse, relay and pump should be possible via [Output Tests]. I realize you had good flow when checking it on a cold start but it is far easier to hear everything when the engine isn't running.

"I would make sure the combi valve holds vacuum."

I think so too, that's what I would have been doing if I wasn't spending my time dealing with idiot jack.

My secondary air system is not ready, so I cannot smog my vehicle. That's why I bought Ross-Tech.
Side question: What state is your vehicle being tested in? I believe many jurisdictions will pass you with one non-ready monitor other than the catalytic converter monitor, and no DTCs present. This may not be an emergency for you.

here's today's scan

I set wsc to 12345 123 12345 but I don't see that it "took"

Let's default the controller too and recode with alternate WSC to verify it took please....use same coding value of 00032

As per post #17:
If you go into engine ecu, and choose coding - set the new value to the same number 00032 click save - it recodes it, defaults some values and SHOULD change the WSC etc, if it all works right.

It might not fix anything, but it will confirm/deny some possibilities for Jack.

Jack really is trying to help, btw. There are a number of modules that "revive" after recoding - kind of like re-installing windows, even though you already had windows, it just works better afterwards

- Secondary Air Injection System
P0411 - 35-00 - Incorrect Flow Detected
Readiness: 0000 1000

I'm not here for the OP I'm here for the spirit of the collective...........

Santos very good but .......While the IAT is ref in the early AEG/ABA cars with throttle cables for SAI, it is not an issue for this controller in order to commence with the test if done in sequence as I have aforementioned. Actually it likes HOT!

The test is indeed running and stating that "incorrect flow" is detected and further aborts .........pay attention to this for failing to be observed when reading the scan VCDS presents.

Incorrect flow would indicate that maybe just maybe that the combi is sticking like Dana states or some dumb ass plugged in the solenoids backward or reversed the vacuum lines.
Maybe a solenoid is just flat out bad to direct vacuum to switch the combi or combi is bad or port is plugged with carbon causing a restriction.

A quick test will be .........0x01-04-077 and take a look at the intake flap to see if it shuts during test being initiated. :banghead:

Or

Using a mighty vac with VCDS to see if the solenoids are switching the correct respective component 0x01-03 Next! or by running 0x01-04-077 and operating the mighty vac directly & to the combi to see if the tests completes or aborts without a DTC.

If it operates and aborts without a DTC, this means the test ran but it hasn't seen other tests complete before it can save to EEPROM or commence its findings again when ready than saved during the DCY.

NostraJackAss Has Decreed a Final Rule!

Unfortunately I'm in California and there's no slack here.

I've already done that and it was set to 32 when I looked. Then I zeroed out another field for him that was already zeroed out and ran another scan.

The one thing I haven't gotten done is to get the wsc set to 12345 123 12345.

I'll try again.

Setting those values in VCDS doesn't do anything until you Recode a module or save an Adaptation or similar sorts of things.

What does that mean in useful English.

123 all zeros or 12345 is not advised and importer # should be for the USA 444
