Sure how do I do that?

I'm going to have to change my approach. My laptop has wifi but the screen is so damn small (because I have to set the video settings to max in order to get Ross Tech to display correctly)

So if it's something simple I'll put on an extra set of glasses and try to work through it.

Right now I'm going to try to recode 0x01-07- code with 00032 + then go 0x01-10-00 clear save and Now also do a TV ADP 0x01-04-060

Well in the meantime commence with what you have and read that thread on doing readiness individual tests........

Let me know ........ Good luck

01 07 was already 00032
01 10 was already zeroed
And I don't get it, TV ADP 0x01-04-060 comes to me as the throttle body adjustment.

Like the brakes, that has nothing at all to do with secondary air readiness.

You are doing this to default the learned baseline settings and readapt everything.

By changing the WSC + Coding: 00032
Change Shop #: WSC 26078 to something else it verifies it was done like "34567".

Just because 0x01-10-00 says zero don't mean the value is zero save it to clear the defaults.

Then the TV gets done because you are reestablishing the baseline.

This ensures a learned adaption loop is broken in the EEPROM much further than just a DTC reset.

I am not trolling you but if you feel that way that is totally up to you.

You think you know what you are doing and how things are related and I can tell you...... you indeed don't........

These ME7.1.1 controllers are very fussy and if you follow my instructions rather than argue what you think you know, more than likely the SAI will set, but you have to follow procedure, in addition the ecu needs a firmware update.

I offered to do a remote so not really seeing how that's a troll move but whatever.

Would you like me to ignore you going forward?

Hello and welcome to the VCDS forum, I am NostraJackAss........ the forums resident asshole .....I'm pleased to meet you....

Since when did you get this nice? Even after being accused of trolling, you are still relatively nice? My balls still hurt after what you did to me! Sorry OP, I know this brings nothing to this thread, you are getting off easy on this one....

I have already asked for a RMA on the Ross-Tech crap I bought.

If they let an asshole like this post in their forums they are a bunch of sleazebags.

The air injection won't ready so jack thinks I should check my brakes, then he thinks I should re calibrate my throttle, then he thinks I should set data that already exists and zero out things that are already zeroed out just to be sure. The topper is when he thinks I am using the wrong shop code.

This guy is beneath contempt.

Jack, sorry! I was 'playing', I could have used better language...as for you, sfojimbo, you might want to cancel that RMA. Ross Tech is hands down the best tool you can buy for the price point for your car, and support is excellent. Jack is trying to help, whether you believe it or not. And yes, his responses can be difficult to understand...but he is not trolling you...not worth his time...getting angry and posting derogatory words will not help your cause of getting your car through smog and will not help your situation.

Hi sfojimbo,
I have been using VagCom/WCDS for more than 12 years and can assure you it and the support are the best value VAG tool available. Jack might be an "asshole" but he is your best chance of fixing your car.
I would stay with it, follow the process word for word and get a result. What have you to lose?
Regards HMC

You are not the first to have an issue with the SAI readiness bit and you will not be the last.

Changing the WSC verifies the controller has indeed recoded to default & when you rescan it will now display the alternate, otherwise you cant tell it took unless looking at the EEPROM, in addition I suspect your tester is not setup with a valid WSC, tester # or importer # and I can tell you this controller does indeed support it.

A valid default is a direct write of EEPROM.

If these things are not setup in a tester, a controller will not default or run some basic setting tests.
You refuse to answer all my questions, follow instructions or allow a remote and which I don't offer too often for free.......

I suggest you read the last page of the SSP for the VAG1551 or VAG1552..........or when I find it I will post a picture of it to show you, you are wrong.

The CAT readiness bit was indeed set before the SAI was ready and that tells me tests commenced out of order or car was FOD and will block the test to the SAI going forward unless done all in the same session and in sequence. For this POS controller...... if the MAF is bad will also cause a problem, but often people change the MAF unneeded and when they do, it resets a table that allows for the sequence to commence for SAI, however, was just really a bad diagnosis due to the BUG in firmware.

JPPSG violation ........invalid default ......firmware not up to date, poor attitude......epic fail.

See what happens when I'm too nice.............

Thank God this isn't me right........I do get sick on the docks?

There were some DTCs a week or so ago that were meaningless for this question.
Please check the VCDS Scans and Logs folders to see if those were saved. The DTCs before the transmission replacement may...or may not be relevant but those logs would also contain Readiness bit information.

I have to set the video settings to max in order to get Ross Tech to display correctly
I would change the PC display settings back to the default size before changing the VCDS settings. From the VCDS [Options] Screen you will find a tab named |User Interface and Identification| which allows you to increase the screen size. Online Demo / Manual - Options Screen

His readiness bits did indeed reset in scans OP James provided.

OP The brakes have what is known as a brake booster which is operated by vacuum and the combi valve under the intake by TV which is to direct the SAI pump fresh air into the exhaust & is indeed switched with vacuum.

So yeah they are related........

I can assure you he's not. There are plenty of people here who had similar thoughts who've come back in the end with something to the effect of, "Jack was right".

Is he always right? No. But he really is trying to help you.
