Release upgrade went smoothly, started the firmware and was going great until it stalled at 33 percent, waited a while and then the led just started blinking red. Now I get Port Status :OK. Interface : Not Found !
Any ideas ? Thanks, Phil

Were you updating over the air (Hex-Net in Infrastructure Mode) with VCDS-Mobile or wired with USB and using the VCDS Interface Config (VIC) utility? Either way, please try the VIC again and let us know what happens. Also, have one more try with a different USB lead.

If feeling adventurous, how does the interface appear in Windows Device Manager?

Wired via USB , already tried another cord. Rebooted , restarted etc. when I go to "test" I get the message described above. When I plug the device in I get the audible windows alert (USB) with the green flashing (about 5-7) then it goes red I get another alert (USB). Have not checked device manager.

Worst case, we'll get you an RMA when the office is open again next week and beat it into submission here.

In the meanwhile please tell us the behavior of all the LEDs using this picture as a reference:

I think it's a Dell, just a laptop I had sitting around. Blew everything out of it, running windows 7. Dedicated just for the prog, all has been running fine for about a year.

Try this:
1. With interface unplugged, hold down the red button.
2. Plug in and power up over usb with button held, continue to hold button for at least 10 seconds, then let go
3. Open VCIConfig and check for updates.

Try to complete the update like that.

Tried unplugging/plugging, got my green then red flashing led 1. Tried the update and it worked. Ran a quick ops check on the car and all is well. Thanks again everyone.

Shaun: If it's not revealing trade-secrets, are you able to explain how/why this procedure works?

I'm curious as well. I had tried holding the button for 45 seconds (cpu reset) but it was only after his procedure and then a power cycle that my unit responded. I noticed it took a lot longer than the usual upgrade, as if it was being written from zero. Regardless she is working perfectly.

I'm getting precisely the same issue. How did you resolve it - by holding down the button for >10 secs?

I just keep getting 'get ver timeout' and 'get ds ver timeout', then 'no rods found' then after it says 'building SD update', then 'Error code -8, download failed', then 'timeout while waiting for server'.

I held the button down for 45 plus a few seconds, unplugged it,
powered it back up and then went to VCIConfig. Worked like a charm.

Does it mean you unplugged it while you were holding the button pressed or not? I did both ways and none of them worked.

At the begining AP was shown but now it doesn't either work.

In case I try to unplugged and reconect LED 1 starts blinking in red once again.

Everything started when I tried to upgrade (USB Flashing update) after upgrading VCDS to v 18.2.

Thank you all the staff in advance.

No, you hold the button down for 45 seconds while powered up, then release. You should get a confirmation beep. Leave it powered up for a while after that, then power-cycle.

What does VCIConfig show?

I'll rewrite my post...
The only method to be able to connect via VCIConfig.exe is using Shaun's way posted before. While red blinking is totally impossible.
Appart of that here you will found some of my faults attached:

Last thing I've done is uninstall everything related to VCDS and reinstall just the final version (18.2)
Now that I've posted my printscreens, is anyone here that could help me?
Thanks in advance.
