DSG 0D9 Intermittent faults after suggested adaptation process

Hello,

I had a bit of rough downshifts on my 2015 MQB Golf R, so I followed the adaptation reset process posted here and it finished successfully:

Car drives the same after adaption, its smooth for the most part, but 4-3 downshift is a bit rough. Anyway, my main concern now is the faults only.

Now whenever I put it in D i get the following faults immediately:

Here is a full scan..for some reason the faults don't appear in the full scan, but they do when I go to the module itself (Auto trans) and check faults

Well that's a bit unusual.

What happens if you go to directly to the module, check for fault codes, and then remove the check-mark from "Use Aggressive Mode" mode option?

I'll note in the data you posted originally, they're all flagged "Intermittent - Not Confirmed".

"Intermittent" means the condition that set the fault code did not exist (or could not be detected) at the time the scan was performed. "Not Confirmed" pretty much speaks for itself.

Hi, today i checked Golf GTI with same Gearbox 0D9 and had the same faults on gearbox, (from gear 1 to 6 and R Not Selectable) + other faults. Sorry i do not have auto scan to post. I asked a local Gearbox specialist, he said these faults only appears when checking with VCDS, and when checking by ODIS or other scanner, no faults appears. I have VCDS 18.9.1, What do you think?

You could try unticking the "aggressive"mode box in VCDS and scanning again - then please post the scan here.

had the same thing happen. car driving and changing ok but list of trans faults. un-tick aggressive mode = no fault codes
also scanned with snap-on diag = no fault codes

. I think your tranny is done and spoken for !!! ( neah , just kidding :cool:

). Yes, don't use aggressive mode , it's a state where i believe the VCDS becomes violent , so watch out !

I did an aggressive scan once on my car and it found where i've stashed 200 euros which i forgot about it .

Untick Agressive mode, and not showing.
This all started after flashing the gearbox. Even reverting back to stock software, get these errors now.

Any fix for this yet please?

Many that posted above (Auto-Scan and stated) were using quite dated versions of VCDS, is there any reason you members are not updating? Its 2023 !

Look at the time the posts were made..back in 2017 to 2020. They had the appropriate VCDS version at the time.

Considering the age of this / these posts , I think I would start my own thread with a comprehensive title and a current as well as complete Auto-Scan.

Genuine VCDS with latest update and firmware.

I tagged onto this thread as issue still seems unresolved and is the same issue.
OP's issue started after adaptation.
Mine started after flashing gearbox software (using PCM Flash on bench)
Ran Basic settings in Odis to reset Adaptations. But issue remains.
ODIS shows no faults or issues.

Seems like something related to when the EEPROM is changed or updated in Module 02 TCU.
VCDS bugs out!
