Bump for CB V0.4316, DS 10000045, and FW 0.244

This has support for CAN Extended IDs, as well as corresponding new label and ASAM data

If you have been missing ASAM data, please give this update a try, there have been several fixes related to that.

I tried the update via USB/Config utility which completed the first phase but then detected a version mismatch, now it says:

Updated rod data needed
Applying update...
Error code -8, download failed

Unplugged the HEX-Net, tried again, this time rod update succeeded, check for updates again and it kept saying Updated rod data needed, tried this 4 times so far and while it goes through the applying update, downloading DS update, unpacking DS update. update completed successfully it always finds updated rod data needed

Current versions
CB: 0.4316
FW: 0.244
CFB: 0.10
BL: 0.27
DS: 10000045

Is there a log file that I can upload for troubleshooting?

I hope I'm misunderstanding this. I have been eagerly awaiting the Beta update and have been checking the Forum every hour yesterday to see if it has been released yet so that I could get hold of the new label files. My weekend project was to figure out with the help of the new label files, why my Active Lane Assist icon is flashing all the time. I however now seems that the Beta update is only available to the HEX-NET interfaces?
Please say that I've got it wrong? And if so, how do I get the new beta? (I'm running VCDS 15.7.4. I realize that part of getting the beta going will be to update the firmware of my HEX-USB interface.)

Thank you Sebastian. I first installed the beta available on the beta-download page and updated the firmware of the interface. Then I tried the "check for updates" button (selecting the beta option), but VCDS reports "no update available"

Just found the link in the Beta threat. Sorry about that.

Beta 16.5.0 WARNING: if you are using s hex+ can or micro can interface, the interface firmware required by this beta version is incompatible with older versions of VCDS and can not be rolled back. By clicking ok below, you acknowledge that you understand this.

What does this mean?

That means that you can't use VCDS 15.x or older anymore, you have to keep using VCDS 16.x or newer

... with a HEX+ CAN or microCAN lead, but with a HEX-NET you can still use VCDS 15.x

A -2 error could be a connection timeout, check your internet and make sure you aren't losing wifi signal or something like that. Then try again. If that doesn't work, you can try checking for updates through the web interface of VCDS Mobile. If neither of those things work, post a screenshot of the Advanced Network Test results from VCDS Mobile.

Shaun, is it reasonable for these updates to take 30 minutes to complete? I started at 7:37 A.M. and they finished at 8:06 A.M.

I'm not sure that is normal, but i can see it happening. DS updates contain the label files. Writing 16000+ files will take some time, regardless of size.

Indeed, it should be a lot of files to writing. My timekeeper was my favorite internet radio. DS update and "D S Radio".

The reason I asked is because the ETA shown at the start was "~10 minutes" and each download had 3 steps: download, verify, and install. Once the first download finished the ETA time changed to about 8 minutes, then after the second download finished it was at about 6 minutes, even though each dl actually took about 7-8 minutes. Oh, this was with the Hex-Net connected directly to my iMac via USB, and using a tab in Firefox to open VCDS-Mobile to do the updates.

Wrong, I was able to solve an update problem under Windows by running HexNetConfig V2.014 on my MacBook.

The issue may be the version of Java that you are using, I use the Oracle Mac version but others have reported problems with other Java installs.
