Hello,

I managed to stall my 2009 A4 B8 3.0TDi 102k miles at a junction today. When I got the car restarted I noticed the idle was only around 600 ish and a bit lumpy. This seems a bit low? I did a scan when I got home and there are no errors being flagged up. I did check some measured values of the engine and wonder if there is anything wrong? Thank you.

I think I have found the cause. As well as the low idle the car has been a bit gutless. Today I decided rev the car a bit more than usual and when I did there a clunk and a rattling noise. Turns out the clamp in the centre of the exhaust had rusted and the front section of the exhaust was dragging on the ground. Likely the lack of back pressure might be the cause?? Luckily this happened 100 yards from a garage.

Sounds like preventive maintenance isn't in your normal care process........maybe time to embrace versus catastrophic damage response center no?
